This speaks volumes about the inconsistency between the interests the #US proclaims in its #NationalSecurity strategy & the policies it pursues in the #WesternHemisphere.
 #LatinAmerica & the #Caribbean need neither aircraft carriers patrolling their waters nor punitive #tariffs. What we lack are reliable & predictable partners. While the US is closing off its #market, other countries have stepped forward as alternatives, with a positive agenda capable of fostering economic & social development.

Furthermore there's a powerful tendency for this system to devalue stable and established businesses because these are likely to be the least volatile. The ideal state of affairs for a business from the perspective of the customers, i.e. solidity and reliability and steady-state equilibrium (roughly constant income vs. expenditure) is hateful to market gamblers. It's boring and dull, regarded as stagnation. Maximally volatile businesses, those which are the LEAST reliable and LEAST likely to be supplying customers' needs, are favored by dedicated #market gamblers. They want huge payouts and easy riches, so like horse-race gamblers dropping the kids' college funds on some fifty-to-one longshot, the capitalist gamblers favor only the worst possible ventures. I don't know enough about the history of U.S. #politics to know for certain when it became standard practice to cite the stock #market as the primary index (or "metric" as the computer geeks like to say) of the general health of the United States. Being a child of the 1970s and 1980s I tend to associate this with Reaganite Christofascism but Reagan (or rather the thousands of puppetmasters who trained up the senile Hollywood substar into a mouthpiece for reactionary "supply side" dogma) was merely picking up on social trends decades older than his Presidency.   • The shower only supports freezing or boiling water, no in-between
  • The vanity taps temperature is random. It could be cold water from the hot tap, or hot water from the cold tap, who knows!
  • The property management company is shady as fuck
  • The house is very airy. As in, it's windy inside
  • The "beautiful high ceiling" means heating it is expensive

What do you think, is #AI stealing this #tech employee's #tech #career ? Of course only employers know but I would say confidently that many #eCommerce #jobs especially entry level can be replaced with AI. My biggest concern about the AI impact on the job #market is that many entry level jobs are being wiped out.
