I saw an advert on #ITV last night about how I need to take a long hard look at myself about how much water I am using/wasting and I should try much harder to reduce it and we all need to work together.... so is that so there's plenty left for all these data centers using water for cooling, and let's not even start discussing all the wastage through leaks #letssavewater

I just finished watching the very interesting iTV/britbox series McDonald & Dodds. But that's not what I want to talk about. It has a very photorealistic title sequence. It was created in the last decade, so the technology is current. Why is it so easy to know the imagery is computer generated and not based in the physical world? Granted this has impossible shots and some obvious animations. But even before that, I knew it was artificial. It could be simply uncanny valley, but maybe it was something else, like variations in shading? Or perhaps the lack of depth as we comprehend it? Or less randomness in stone and wood than in nature? I'd love to know more from those knowledgeable about such art forms. #iTV #BritBox #McDonaldAndDobbs #ComputerGeneratedImages

RE: https://mementomori.social/@Auringon_sikio/116978849644048794 The #ITV-series Gone exposes overwhelming matters about the #IntelligenceServices, especially the Finnish #IntelligenceAgency Supo, #Suojelupoliisi. Apparently the #police (at least) in #Bristol and #Bath (who knows if in the rest of #England, too, or even in the whole of #UK!) is lead by #Supo. The logo in the screenshot is the #CoatOfArms of #Finland. So dear World, stop talking about #MI5 and #MI6. About #FBI and #CIA. About #FSB and #Mossad. And start talking about Supo, #JustSaying!

Ylellä näkyvän Gone-sarjan (”Pääepäilty”) kuvitteellisen Bristolin ja Bathin poliisilaitoksen tunnuksessa on jotain kovin tuttua. https://areena.yle.fi/1-77516114

Problematic media autistic representation: Chasing Shadows TV show Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive
I just watched the very problematic to autistic people iTV show Chasing Shadows. BritBox listed the show as a dark comedy featuring a socially inept person. The Wikipedia article calls the lead character a misfit before later indicating undiagnosed autism. I'm so disappointed such viewpoints were present in 2014, when the show aired. The show went out of the way to poke fingers as if to say "look at the funny autistic person!". I watched the show, of course, totally identifying with the lead character and my heart broke with how everyone treated him (with very little exception) while having great difficulty in seeing his incredible contributions. No wonder the show wasn't renewed, despite quite the cliffhanger. So it is true that bad representation is worse than any representation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chasing_Shadows_(TV_series) #ChasingShadows #iTV @autistics@fedigroups.social #ActuallyAutistics

I'm currently binge-watching the very enjoyable feel good TV show Rosemary & Thyme on iTV on britbox. It's two women who created a horticulture business together whilst solving murder mysteries in various settings while keeping their humor. Love the way they address a variety of stereotypes throughout the show (so far)! Reminds me of two book series I used to read. One dealt with a chocolate dessert maker who solved murder mysteries. The other was of a cafe owner who had the most amazing tea selections, again whilst solving murder mysteries. I think they call these "cozies". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosemary_%26_Thyme #TVShow #RosemaryAndThyme #iTV #BritBox #Cozies
