Stava per lasciare Gran Canaria quando è stata fermata dagli agenti della Polizia Nazionale all’aeroporto. Una turista straniera è stata arrestata con l’accusa di truffa dopo che, secondo quanto ricostruito dagli investigatori, avrebbe trascorso undici notti in un hotel del comune di San Bartolomé de Tirajana, nel sud dell’isola, senza pagare il conto finale di 2.483 euro. A riferire i dettagli della vicenda è l’emittente spagnola Cadena SER, che cita la Polizia Nazionale.
La donna soggiornava nella struttura insieme a un altro adulto e a un minore, con una prenotazione effettuata direttamente attraverso il sito dell’hotel, con una carta di credito data come garanzia. Al termine della vacanza, però, il tentativo di addebitare l’importo del soggiorno sulla carta indicata non è andato a buon fine. Il personale dell’albergo ha quindi contattato la cliente, che avrebbe inizialmente assicurato di voler saldare il conto, spiegando di trovarsi già in aeroporto e di avere difficoltà ad accedere alla propria carta bancaria. Dopo quella conversazione avrebbe smesso di rispondere alle chiamate e il pagamento non sarebbe mai stato effettuato.

She was about to leave Gran Canaria when she was stopped by National Police officers at the airport. A foreign tourist was arrested on suspicion of fraud after, according to investigators, she had spent eleven nights in a hotel in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, south of the island, without paying the final bill of 2,483 euros. The details of the story were reported by the Spanish broadcaster Cadena SER, which cited the National Police.
The woman was staying at the establishment with another adult and a minor, with a reservation made directly through the hotel’s website using a credit card given as security. At the end of her vacation, however, the attempt to charge the accommodation amount onto the indicated card was unsuccessful. The hotel staff then contacted the customer, who initially assured them she wanted to pay the bill, explaining that she was already at the airport and having difficulty accessing her bank card. After that conversation, she stopped answering calls and the payment was never made.
