My two-year-old daughter was sitting 23 rows away from me. They told me to hope that someone would change seats on the plane, but I couldn't risk it: the story of Sophie Lux.
I specifically chose a daytime flight because my little girl is only two years old and I knew that an overnight journey would completely disrupt her routine. This is the story that Sophie Lux told to the Daily Mail. The woman explained that she had booked a Ryanair return flight from a week-long vacation in Gran Canaria with her children, Ronnie, 9, and Scarlett, 2.
Once the booking was completed, however, she discovered that she had been assigned a seat at the front of the plane, while the two children would be seated approximately 23 rows back. At that point, according to her version of events, she contacted Ryanair to report that she couldn't travel far from her children, especially the youngest one. The response she received, she says, was that there were no other seats available and that she should trust the flight crew once on board: “I was essentially told they couldn’t do anything and that I would have to get on the plane hoping someone changed seats. But this is not a plan, it's a gamble I’m not willing to take with my two children.”
