Squared Magic – Magie im Quadrat A fitting subject for my first post here: photography leaving the screen and finding its way onto the walls. 🙂 I’m taking part in “Squared Magic”, a group exhibition by Fotoclub Martfeld at the historic Fehsenfeldsche Mühle in Martfeld, Germany. The exhibition brings together photographs exploring different subjects and approaches, united by the square format. We open on Friday, 25 September at 8 pm, with further exhibition dates on 27 September and 11 October. “Colorful Buildings, Portree, Scotland” — Colorful Portree waterfront building and reflections, Isle of Skye. Just a few days after sharing a post in which I mentioned that I photograph a lot of subjects that are not icons… here is a photograph of an icon! This scene in the town of Portree, Isle of Skye is definitely in that category. I’m pretty sure that if you search (or as I hear I should now say, “search up”) “Portree this scene will come up. It is an attractive row of colorful buildings, and their reflection in the water adds to the effect…more: https://gdanmitchell.com/2026/08/04/colorful-buildings-portree-scotland/ #isleofskye #scotland #photo #photography #photoOfTheDay #lensCulture #photographyLovers #fineArtPhotography #travel

Santorini had been on my photography bucket list for years. Even though I wasn't feeling my best that morning, there was no way I was leaving without capturing those iconic blue domes overlooking the Aegean Sea. Some moments are worth pushing through for. https://fineartamerica.com/featured/santorini-blue-dome-and-bell-tower-rebecca-herranen.html #greece #architecture #travel #fineartphotography #art #buyintoart #art #europe #culture #island #wallart #decor #greekislands

Strong side lighting, and a fence to create shadows for contrast?  Yes, please. (Cross-posted from my site, where there are more photos to see: https://andrewflenniken.com/2026/07/24/july-24th-2026-fridays-fence-post/) Add some glowing spiderwebs (and a backlit spider, for good measure)?  That's a happy place, for sure. Juanita Bay Park is a pretty place with lots of nature to see, but during a late afternoon walk there the thing that kept drawing my eye was man-made. (Cross-posted from my site, where there are more photos to enjoy: https://andrewflenniken.com/2026/07/21/july-21st-2026-afternoon-wood/) The warm sunlight on the brown wood, and the texture of its weathered surface, brought me some joy. I even found a backlit leaf to include, so you know I did.  ;) Gear: Nikon Z 7II, Nikon Z 40mm f2 #Photography #FineArtPhotography #Nikon #NikonCreators

Looking over the edge of a cliff 🫣 I don't ever do that! But I had to see Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. Thanks for the railing, I was able to see it. Hot August afternoon. Notice the white spect on the shore, there were people camping there, that's a boat. https://rhartprints.etsy.com/listing/4525556047/court-of-the-lions-alhambra-spain-matted #landscape #landscapePhotography #arizona #desert #travel #nationalpark #wallart #fineart #fineartphotography #art #mastoart #photography #nature #beautiful
