RE: https://agilodon.social/@thirstybear/116975201474585514 These Tech Bros really don't get the meaning of cultural texts, do they? No wonder they see dystopian Science Fiction as a playbook. #TormentNexus #TechBros #DavidBowie

I have decided to listen and write about every David Bowie album, starting with the first one, which was released in 1967 and is somewhat unloved. #DavidBowie https://secretpandablog.wordpress.com/2026/06/29/bowie-1967/

Happy 40th anniversary to Jim Henson’s' Labyrinth' released on June 27 back in 1986, starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly, written by Terry Jones, with George Lucas as an executive producer. Originally considered a box office flop, but also recognised as a masterclass in practical filmmaking, using massive hand-crafted sets, puppets, and complex animatronics. And honestly what's not to love? It had David Bowie as the Goblin King, magic, a cute baby, an even cuter worm, a grumpy goblin with a soft heart on the inside, a friendly, rock-summoning gigantic beast, a talking Fox Terrier knight who used a non-talking Old English Sheepdog as his steed, friendship, second chances, and found family. Justifiably a cult classic for 4 decades now. (Theatrical poster illustration by Ted CoConis) #OTD #OnThisDay #Labyrinth #Movies #CineMastodon #FilmMastodon #DavidBowie #JimHenson

Transformer is the second solo studio album by American musician Lou Reed. Produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson, the album was released on November 8, 1972 by RCA Records. It is considered an influential landmark of the glam rock genre, anchored by Reed's most successful single, "Walk on the Wild Side", which touched on controversial topics of sexual orientation, gender identity, prostitution, and drug use. Although Reed's self-titled debut solo album had been unsuccessful, Bowie had been an early fan of Reed's former band the Velvet Underground and used his fame to promote Reed, who had not yet achieved mainstream success. - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbaLjKWKTJs&list=RDPbaLjKWKTJs&start_radio=1 #LouReed #Transformer #MickRonson #DavidBowie #GlamRock #Music #NewYork
