Somewhere in this country a baby was born this morning to parents without papers. And that baby is an American. Six justices, 6–3, said the 14th Amendment means what it has meant since 1868: born here, subject to our laws, one of us. Trump signed it away his first afternoon back. He's completely right. I don't celebrate this decision; we should be centering court reform. I *do* celebrate the context, though: our amoral SCROTUS is starting to fear the people more than Trump, which is the most you can hope for out of a bunch of fascists. #SCOTUS’ #BirthrightCitizenship opinion is looong. Mostly the #dissent by Justice #ClarenceThomas & joined by #Gorsuch. The majority opinion is 26 pages long, Thomas’s dissent runs to 91 pages. Imagine being that freaking #racist. #law #immigration #ImmigrationLaw
