Doing some data modelling to see if a solar sharer tariff would be better than our current import/export with battery. My first naive model from actual data (not time shifting usage into the sponge hours) is pretty marginal in summer, and rather expensive in winter. Adelaide friends Looks like the State Development Area for Osborne -- intended for works for the Aukus submarine project -- is far larger than needed. See the map below. It's basically the entire LeFevre Peninusla which doesn't currently have residential housing plus all but the central streets of Port Adelaide. This includes Victoria Drive and the Port River and its shores. The SDA makes it easy for the South Australia government to ignore local government and community concerns about a development. I'd encourage you to have a good look at the map and ask "Why does this street need to have residents' views put aside?" Why the cruise liner passenger terminal? Why both the sailing clubs? Why the new high density residential construction in Port Adelaide? Why the new light industry area north of the Port River Expressway? Why both power stations, the cement works, and the fuel storage; all of which were satisfactorily constructed under the current rules? None of which have anything to do with making submarines. The Port Adelaide - Enfield Council is incredibly supportive of industry in the Port and Peninsula. As are the people of the Port. There is no Nimby going on here, not even in the local environment group. We've had decades of unemployment since containerisation in the 1970s, and whilst the corner has turned on that, people are still keen for a future which involves making and doing. Wanting that done right is part of making that future secure. "The newly formed Adelaide University is considering removing [toxic] gas company Santos’s name from one of its buildings. On Saturday, students and conservationists rallied outside the Santos "Petroleum Engineering" building, calling on the university to dump the name because of the company’s new gas projects. The university had already been considering dropping the name after a sponsorship deal expired, its vice-chancellor told Guardian Australia. So, the 'israeli-brothers' (pigeons) are back again crapping all over my doorstep and trying to steal the water and food I give the magpies when they're here (I never leave any on the ground).. And I'm shooing them off around 5 times every hour.. Found out yesterday it's because the upstairs neighbours have been pouring their leftover rice meals into the side garden from their balcony.. how nice of them!.... So again I've placed a polite note in their letterbox about it (second time), third will be a 'strike 3' scenario straight to the landlord and if the pigeons build up again I'll have no choice but to poison them. #Pests #Pigeons #Adelaide

The 100-year-old East Terrace #Adelaide playground to be ripped up and moved for Malinauskas's MotoGP "The Glover Playground on the corner of East Terrace and Wakefield Street in Adelaide was opened by the Governor-General Lord Forster and Lord Mayor Charles Glover on September 11, 1925. Adelaide City Council revamped the playground in 2018, and now, due to the State Government securing the MotoGP using the city's Formula 1 city circuit, this historic play space is to be moved.
