Probably a defensive site for two thousand years or more, no other Scottish castle comes close in terms of a sense of sheer brooding impregnability. Two years ago tonight I was fortunate to witness one of the best displays of the Aurora Borealis that I have ever seen. A remarkable sky lit up to the naked eye and made more unique as it was covering most of the southern sky. The first shot is a stitch of around eighteen individual shots in order to fit the whole display into one frame #Aurora #NorthernLights #Aberdeenshire #Scotland
