  • got washed and dressed this morning, ready for my delivery. The temperature is cooler than yesterday so my bathroom was easier to air out

  • brought my grocery delivery in and I now have healthy fresh food again 🥑

  • a phone call from a friend, which doubled up as free entertainment since they had a lot of drama to report. I did my best to be a good listener :blobcatcoffee:

  1. Finding peace in the realization that my healing is my own, separate from those who are not yet capable of compassion.

  2. Taking mindful, protective action for our neighborhood trees and the local environment.

  3. The warmth of a supportive community and the reminder that my anger and love can coexist safely.

Three good things today: My cheap Kmart kettle arrived, so that I can set up a coffee/tea station in the bedroom for the days when disability means a trip to the kitchen is a bit too much. Managed to get bookshelves moved to another spot(something I'd been meaning to do for ages but hadn't got around to). Lots of laughs and cuddles with two of my loves-perfect for a winters day. #ThreeGoodThings #3GoodThingsToday

Three good things I am grateful for this morning:

  1. I am grateful to live in a town that prioritizes healing. Today we are holding a vigil for the man whose life was taken by ICE. May he and all the victims rest in power.

  2. I am learning how to confront people who misunderstand me with love and compassion.

  3. I am deeply thankful for the people who influence my life and help shape me into the person I have always wanted to be.

Good things... • awake before dawn, after a decent sleep • groceries fetched, liquor restocked • recyclables taken to county recycling center • yard work complete • less Canadian forest fire smoke today • temperatures back to NEPA Summer normal (81˚F/27˚C), with low humidity and a nice breeze • Cubs resume play at home vs. the Twinkies, after the All Star break And now, I proclaim Happy Hour here at Schloss Hessert, and pour myself a dirty Martini. Feels mostly like a wasted day, but I did manage to... • resuscitate my old Lenovo desktop computer • pull out and update my Raspberry Pi 4B after a few years in storage • spend some quality (but hot) time in the cockpit of Baby Blue And today's haze is definitely forest fire smoke from Canada. Hope they're able to contain all that soon! Poor air quality is a rarity here in NEPA. #3GoodThings #3GoodThingsToday

  1. Pizza for dinner, the steak meal can wait for tomorrow, too much bother to cook them.
  2. Took the women to town to do some shopping and they were back at the car before I had completed the boring grocery rounds.
  3. Fixed the noisy sliding door after some googling - toothbrush, surface spray, lots of yuck removed and some silicone spray to finish off. Much improved.

Es war ein normaler Sommertag, fern der 40•C Eine Brieftaube ist bei uns gestrandet und besucht uns seit 2 Monaten mehrmals täglich. Heute schläft sie zum ersten mal auf dem Fensterbrett und bleibt sogar sitzen, wenn man das Fenster öffnet und schließt ❤️ Abends haben wir uns mit vielen anderen Freunden zum Picknick bis spät in die Nacht hinein getroffen. #threegoodthings #3GuteDinge #3GoodThingsToday #dreigutedingedestages

Three good things I'm grateful for this morning:

  1. My next-door neighbor for organizing the community to proactively oppose a new development proposition. While our town needs more housing, we also need to honor our local Green New Deal.

  2. The farmers who work hard to provide us with fresh food.

  3. The local resources available to feed the hungry. I am not always able to afford groceries, so I am deeply thankful for the programs around town that help provide meals.

  • went to an arcade with a friend. Killed my legs playing DDR...I used to be so good at it (20 years ago)....but at least it was still fun

  • scheduled to have a dead tree removed from my backyard. Or well....agreed to it. My leasing company is the one who schedules and pays for it. I just pay my rent. At least the tree is being removed. Sad it died though.

  • watched some random 癒し系 anime tonight. It was nice.

Three good things today: Recovery from surgery is going well, and overall I have low pain. A cool, windy and rainy night made for cozy snuggles, and feelings of contentment.
