brought my grocery delivery in and I now have healthy fresh food again 🥑
a phone call from a friend, which doubled up as free entertainment since they had a lot of drama to report. I did my best to be a good listener

However, the red and blue bins are collected on alternating weeks, except for the Christmas period where there's a new timetable and a lot of us start to lose track again. ♻️ :blobcatbox: #binception

@clive@saturation.social COBOL was my livelihood before web based systems. Years of keeping legacy systems going, like billing systems. Unsexy but reliable. The only problem was having to move around the country to get the jobs. I'd consider COBOL again if it was remote work.

What are the alternatives for us that have the reach and ease of use at this point? After X, I started using Mastodon, some friends went to :bluesky: but that's about it. @phi1997 At first glance it appears that Krita is aimed at people who want to make digital paintings. My experience (10 years ago) of Photoshop was that it was aimed at photographers and graphic designers. I also tested out Illustrator for package design. Gimp presumably covers that group. So these programs are aimed at different niches? @tydalforce @DrPen

I'm always glad to avoid being at the sharp end of system recovery. I'll add a tale I heard in my 1st job - The IT bod went to get the backups for a failed system. They asked the office admin for the (floppy) disks and were handed a ring-binder. The disks had been neatly filed by punching holes through the covers! :scremcat: :yikes:
