@gcvsa@mstdn.plus I was just looking at the Buena Vista page and found this: "Will fit 700c x 42mm tires with fenders", which sounds much more reasonable. Wonder if the 28mm maximum was for the old rim-brake model?

@fesshole@mastodon.social Yeah, I had cancer and only told family and close friends. And my boss. I happen to have a great family and friends, no-one was annoying about it and I felt I got all the support I needed without anyone being intrusive. I guess I got lucky in a lot of respects.

I work in a research function (used to be an actual library) in a large corporate and a lot of people really shouldn't be trusted with finding info, especially in these days of ai slop. We used to run "How to Google Better" sessions but that was pre-enshittification.

@seolucius @Daojoan I really struggled with giving up until a few years ago. Felt like some sort of moral failing if I didn't finish a book no matter how much I was hating it. Now? I'll happily put a book aside for later or not at all. Life's too short.

@Pkbwood My work now has an ai IT help chat. Absolutely awful. Sends you around in circles for 10 minutes suggesting the things you've already done before finally suggesting you need to talk to a human. Human had issue sorted in less than a minute. Bring back humans!
