I agree that having mastodon act as a proxy for an X account defeats the purpose and feels inauthentic. One would expect them to 'practice what they preach' to gain trust.

My initial response to the `Recursive Absurd` was a familiar one: surely we could engineer our way out - with better code, kinder patterns, more humane systems.
I was wrong.
The remedy isn’t cleaner loops - it’s refusing to become one.
