I hope Apple will add their first unit test for HealthKit permissions.

New update 12.9 is now available on the App Store.

It introduces the all-new Split Variation Chart — a fast, glanceable way to visualize your automatic splits.

No more boring multi-column tables. Your pacing tells a story instantly.

Today is a big day. I received an email titled:
“Apple Feedback Assistant for Developers: Information about your feedback 12718897”
Sounds promising, right?
So what did they ask?
To verify the issue on watchOS 26.5.
I filed this feedback THREE YEARS AGO.
THIS IS INSANE

I wonder if my Apple “friends” will restart their fake Slack Q&A sessions. They did them for two years straight — then suddenly disappeared.
And honestly, every answer was basically the same:
“Wonderful idea. Please file a Feedback.”
As far as I can tell, (almost?) none of those feature requests were ever implemented.
Pure theater.

They really thought their Apple “friends” would fix this insane bug before shipping iOS 26.5. LOL

Something my Apple “friends” can’t see — because they don’t build third-party apps.
Even worse: in a completely dehumanized process, if you reported this as feedback, you’d probably be told “it only happens on your device.”

RE: @BenRiceM@mastodon.social

Yes, exactly. That’s my main concern.

Apple’s relationship with developers has become completely dehumanized.

The few responses we get through the Feedback system are most of the time incredibly flippant.

@cdfinder@techhub.social @stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social To come back to HealthKit permissions, they’ve already had severe bugs in this area in the past. These permission flows are not tested internally, likely because Apple’s own apps don’t rely on HealthKit permissions. And I still have other severe bug reports related to permissions that have been open for years without resolution. At some point, it becomes hard not to feel that they simply don’t care.

RE: @slizeray@mastodon.social

Apple shipped iOS 26.5 with a bug that breaks **all** apps requesting permission to read Blood Pressure data. I filed Feedback FB22652105 two weeks ago. I can’t believe it.

An engineer confirmed this bug last night: “Yeah, this seems to be a regression.”

New HealthKit regression bug with iOS 25.x, Feedback FB22652105. You can’t get anymore permissions for reading Blood Pressure. You can only turn them on with the Apple Health app.

I pray that Apple does not kill my app with iOS 27 because of a new Less Than 10 regression bug. They can kill any app with a regression bug.

I can’t believe it. And always related to permissions because Apple apps never ask for permissions.

Many haters writing hate reviews. But also super nice users who love the app and are ready to beta test and help me for trouble shooting bugs. This is super rewarding.
I can remember a user of my first app. Unfortunately I didn’t keep the email, but I can remember it very well.
An integration with a third party was broken, and he wrote to me: “Even if your app is broken, I still love it”. This was the best support email I have ever received.

Still experiencing the insane random iOS bug where apps lose their permissions granted for reading Apple Health.

I’ve filed a healthy number of “feedbacks” (Apple’s term for bug reports). The follow-up has been… nothing. Truly a masterclass in consistency—and a clear signal of how much Apple cares about developers and its own software quality.

I thought I’d already received the most ridiculous response to a Feedback, but I underestimated my Apple “friends.”
This time, one of them recommended using an API that’s only available to the Health Research apps.

Shaked left an emptiness in everyone who knew her - taken too soon.

Her light touched so many. She made an impact. Always smiling - full of optimism, with a heart that reached everyone. She always cared for others and was generous.

On October 7, she was murdered while trying to escape the music festival.

@stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social @alpennec@iosdev.space @bigzaphod@mastodon.social oh I just see the reason. There are several issues here. The first one is not related to CKSyncEngine but to the replay API of CloudKit. The second one is that you have options when fetching changes to fix this issue (Scope + prioritizedZoneIds) but it is supposed you designed your schema accordingly. And it didn’t exist with CKFetchRecordZoneChangesOperation only with CKSyncEngine… The third issue is that you can’t use ZoneOptions.desiredKeys
