And lib-humus now has experimental support for the available templates being defined outside the application in a configuration file that comes with the templates. Need to add an RSS feed? plain text version? SVG visualization? No need to touch the application it just needs extra templates and some configuration.

It also has experimental (reading mediatype parameters isn’t supported yet) support for reading the Accept header which was overdue!

I’ll also add user-agent based defaults before the release so one can configure things like HTML by default unless curl and other command line friends are asking.

The documentation is definitely lacking right now and the checking on the configuration file is not yet implemented, but that is an issue for tomorrow me. :drgn_flat_sleep:

@gregeganSF@mathstodon.xyz Somehow the “What we did wrong” section is missing so investigated a bit … After spending not even 3 minutes with the {PAAS provider I don’t want to promote} documentation one could know that CLI tokens are scoped to “projects” and “workspaces” with no further limits, because where would they be configured? magic? nope, that’s how APIs work. Reading the page on volume backups (took about 10 mins to find and read top to bottom) it clearly states in the section names “Caveats” that … Backups are a newer feature that is still under development. You were trusting customer data on what exactly??? :drgn_nervous: Clearly the A”I” isn’t the only one who couldn’t be bothered to read the documentation. And all that ignoring that giving administrative access to an unpredictable unaccountable parrot is a bad idea all by itself. I’m pretty sure they’ll post an other we’ve learned nothing and lost customer data again, here is how we blame all of our tools but not ourselves in ~6 months to a year … and I’ll be happy to miss out on it :drgn_blep:

I now have a tower service that directly calls into Cookie::decode() (which is a method it has because if the Header trait in the headers crate) … which was not easy to discover. Can some rustlang fluent creature help me with an axum problem?

I want to write some middleware that reads a cookie, a header does some value choosing that it needs some configuration for and attached the result to the request.

Currently this is implemented using an axum middleware function with state that is passed through axum::middleware::from_fn_with_state to turn it into a layer, but I want to turn it into a Layer struct, but I keep running into type problems.

@andnull Yep, that’s when CSS frameworks go wrong. https://simplecss.org/ is the only one of which I know, that got it right completely. Also some “design frameworks” do a pretty good job at providing sane defaults for form styling … and then demand that I tag every paragraph of text with their fancy paragraph class :drgn_woozy:
