...but you don't have to have spent a great deal of time there to know its a deeply bigoted place and that their grievances are generally contrived bullshit born of ignorance and hatred.

(1) not what you asked for but https://crontab.guru/ is very useful
(4) i just use the file manager for sftp. one weird thing if you are using kde the location will start with 'fish' eg fish://user@server.local/path

(6) libreoffice draw (but i use inkscape)
(7) give calligra words a run - ymmv working with word documents though, libreoffice is much more robust.
