odo's backstory makes no sense. this guy was not a cardassian, but this notably paranoid military empire made him a security overseer on their mining station. then he had the independence to choose which cases to prosecute and the bajorans loved him because he was so fair. this is completely implausible, until you realize that it's a shitlib "good cop" fantasy
worf was raised among humans and got through starfleet academy, but apparently he never learned any history or culture, because he's the designated "big dumb guy who's instinctively authoritarian" in every plot. like he's a 33 year old man who spent half his life among humans and nobody told him "don't trust the pamphlet guys" before

when a shitlib hears fascist rhetoric, they immediately identify it because they realize a string of ten things, situating it within ideological and historical contexts. Then they second-guess themselves or they're embarrassed to explain everything when they can anticipate the argument they'll have to go through, so they just stay quiet or, at best, say "nah that's bullshit"
