@JulianOliver@mastodon.social so mine is probably "other" Based on the contract I have cgnat with changing IP. In reality we early on day 1 complained about an UDP VPN and v6 not working properly. Since then we still have daily disconnects but the ipv6 prefix and ipv4 appear to not rotate. I think it might have rotated once when docsis 3.1 was rolled out and we therefore had to switch our router. But I am not sure if this scenario counts as static. We seem to just have been set to a fixed external cgnat gateway due to the VPN I assume.

Today's connectivity tester changelog:

I fixed login via magic link in the oauth2 code... it now works across tabs properly
The mail queue doesn't block UI anymore
Allow to disable smtp as a feature in your instance!
Some boilerplate and complexity cleanup
Fixed upgrading from magic link to oauth2 not working properly
Password reset and Password update functionality added on the oauth2 UI.

(oh and for our security people: I hope password reset always claiming it sent an email + adding a small random delay to the response is the correct way to protect against someone trying to iterate users which exist. But feel free to tell me this is not a good solution for $reason)

(also expect bugs, dragons, and other magical creatures along the way. I only barely started to test half of this. D: )

@lina@vt.social Ah I guess maybe it is because I am using systemd-boot/bootctl instead of grub2. So possibly my grub silently broke since I never actually use it. I am guessing then that your tool doesn't support the systemd-boot setup in fedora (yet)?

@krille@troet.cafe I am probably the statistical exception but so far I just say I dont think I have found yet a good space implementation on mobile. This one somehow doesn't feel right either. But also I am not sure what makes one good or bad yet. Its a feature no other messengers really have to this extend. The one think I might see them as are folders. Which would bring me to email clients like k9mail

@jplatte@social.tchncs.de one of the reasons I am currently painfully migrating to a selfhosted phorge instance... Sadly mass migration isn't very smooth (I have like 300 repos to migrate. I can easily convert them to cgit + mailinglist if I needed to but phorge is hard and forgejo seems to also not support mass migration so I am moving now to my own infra with my tool of choice I guess)

So after a day or 2 the timezone argument IMHO doesn't work anymore. I am totally fine if a response takes a day or so. Sure it is frustrating it takes that long if something breaks on you but its reasonable. But beyond that it quickly turns into feeling like you aren't heard

@Linux_in_a_Bit@infosec.exchange It might sound simple and I am aware people often volunteer but not getting a reply after hours of waiting is even for me as a nerd very frustrating. At least after a while have someone say "sorry it seems we can't help you either. Maybe you can leave a ticket on our tracker/mailinglist" or something along those lines. That often would have made me feel better than the feeling of being ignored or worse feeling I asked something so stupid nobody wants to talk to me.

@jesse@social.jelliefrontier.net @JessTheUnstill@infosec.exchange it does use the fqdn when testing by sending the correct sni and host headers when asking the IPs directly. So if you encounter an issue while its a working matrix homeserver able to communicate with another matrix homeserver that would be a bug. Tldr: it should behave like a normal matrix homeserver. Just that it generates debug information along the way. And if that fails there might be an unknown bug. So far hundreds of matrix servers appear to have been tested successfuly by it.
