@reflex@retrogaming.social We haven't given up on working with people. It's just hard to find collaborators willing to invest their time on your project. Regarding security, we're very careful. For example, we did not use AI for developing Flatline.

@reflex@retrogaming.social We don't have a formal policy yet. We evaluate contributions on merit, but instant reject pull requests that are just raw output without review. We use LLMs to assist us on engineering tasks, and to maintain internal tools.

@hipsterelectron@circumstances.run We haven't talked about it, but it's interesting and we'd love to hear your thoughts. In practice, though, it goes beyond our team expertise and we wouldn't really be able to evaluate any change properly. That said, we're always looking for new members. Server-less messaging is actually something we're super interested in, btw. Flatline is a step along the way for us, not the final goal.

@rubdos@mastodon.social Sure. We have a private repo that deploys our Flatline instance to the cloud using GitHub Actions. This instance is currently just for development and testing, but when it's finished it will become the public demo so people can try Flatline. And the CI scripts will also be public. So yes, that's planned. But we still have a lot of work left.

As some of you may know, we're building Flatline, a self‑hostable soft fork of the Signal Server. It lets you run a mostly Signal‑compatible server for research and private deployments. We already run a Flatline server in Bahnhof cloud for internal development. #Signal #mollyim #flatline

Starting with v7.68.5-1, we've unified Molly and Molly-FOSS into a single fully FOSS app, with no proprietary dependencies.

We replaced the proprietary Play Services SDK previously used by Molly with our own open-source implementation, so FCM push notifications are now supported for all users.

If you have either Molly or Molly-FOSS installed, just update like usual. No migration needed.

Molly v7.68.5-1 is already available on GitHub and F-Droid. Accrescent coming soon.
