@AndyGER@mastodon.social @juergen_hubert@mementomori.social The evidence of your actions contradicts that Or at least betrays an absence of empathy for those who are not here for “debate” but rather for the entirely valid reason of finding a community. Many marginalised groups need that and find great benefit it in but are also often victims of attacks from individuals or particular instances. Why should they not be able to have a safe space? You can have your debates, they can have safe spaces & neither needs to impact the other

@AndyGER@mastodon.social @juergen_hubert@mementomori.social So you dislike freedom and control over your own experience, and think no-one else should have that either. Gotcha hahaha 🤣

@AndyGER Observation: you came claiming to want a debate. I remained civil and engaged in such. You didn’t like what I said so shut down the conversation. Ergo you were not here for a good faith debate and that, sir, is why you keep getting blocked 😉 this space is no more toxic than any other and has much better wellbeing controls and the decentralised structure also allows for much safer spaces. As we’re out of the realm of good faith chatting I’ll round off with this: you are the toxicity 😊🔇

And that’s OK. That’s the exact freedom of fedi. What sort of social network is this? It’s whatever each user wants it to be. Fedi is open and free, people can take or leave it. I find value in it, others find centralised spaces suit them better. Choice is good. But if you’re finding you get a lot of blocks and account bans the issue is likely your conduct, which I think you know and try to goad folk into arguments, and / or finding the instance that fits your personality more which may be niche

@AndyGER @mastodonmigration “Believe me, I know that and I did this on purpose this time.”
This is why people are quick to block, as they should be. People are here for their needs not yours. They use the wide ranging wellbeing tools, including blocking and muting, to remove the toxicity you’re referring from their feeds. That’s healthy. Where as you are deliberately being antagonistic. Now there are instances where that is welcome, and many where it is not.

Right, however as the other person who’s since blocked you noted you’re trying to force that debate into a thread / space that it’s nothing to do with. That’s unlikely to get you in front of the people up for a good-faith conversation on the topic and comes off as combative and / or entitled so becomes something of a self-fulfilling gripe.

@nazokiyoubinbou @Gammitin Yeah ATRAC3 was when MD picked up the traction it did. Was at least as good quality as your average MP3 of the era, and absolutely good enough for most people's on-the-go needs. Again considering it was competing with cassette rather than CD it was more than good enough heh. I really wanted MDs to be used more as data discs too.. they were miles better and more robust that a floppy or zip disc and hold round 150mb or so

@nazokiyoubinbou @Gammitin It was great, if niche. Folk kept comparing it to CD when it wasn't intended to replace that. Compared to the cassette tapes it was really superseding it was basically all the benefits of cd (track skipping, track names etc) with much better audio quality than tape, but not as good as cd. For portability it was a great trade-off

@noodlemaz @eons@gamedev.place @jens @DaveMasonDotMe @vagina_museum @cyd You can, but deleting is probably easier and gets the same ultimate end result easier. I tried tweetxer some moons ago & it took ages with so many reloads and would have taken me hours of effort. Deleting took seconds.

@eons @jens @DaveMasonDotMe @vagina_museum An account not being used can, in a change to t&C's a while back, be claimed and abused anyway. Pointless, might as well delete then at least a bad actor doesn't have the credibility of the posting history.
