I would like not to go to work anymore but still get paid please! I think I've had enough of "employers making me feel like I'm not and will never be enough" for a lifetime now. I believe I've paid my dues. I would like to be done now.

Rode my motorbike to work this morning. Making it my first actual full ride (~1hr) since I got the bike. It was a smooth and fairly relaxing ride. It used a similar amount of charge percentage as my Nissan Leaf does on a similar commute tho with less total range. I really enjoyed it. #EV #motorcycle #ElectricMotorcycle

@jonmsterling while I see RSS feeds just as prevalent, unfortunately I find them less useful than they used to be as a lot of feeds are just a link back to the site with nothing but a headline and a "read it on the site" and/or "sign up for our newsletter". I want RSS to be my primary way to read the web but more and more feeds are basically useless. To be clear I don't think RSS is dead, but you can see how the ad funded web has hurt it's usefulness.

What are everyone’s favorite DRM free games? I would like to make a wishlist of games and slowly build out a game library not dependent on an account to play. I don’t mind Steam right now but I still don’t like knowing all my games are tied to a single company being chill. Boosts welcome :boost_requested:

@zak I have an echo mini and can agree the ux leaves something to be desired but it works well enough for playing music. I agree that they unfortunately feel like disposable electronics but honestly so does my smartphone. Hopefully we as a society start regulating how repairable devices must be soon.

@zak Snowsky and JadeAudio (Fiio sub-brands) have been releasing what I think at least is dipping there toes into trying to capitalize on this market. With the release of the echo mini, disc, echo, and JM21 I think they are seeing if there’s enough interest in a “average person” player. Fiio proper still is only focusing on the HiFi market but I see these sub-companies as feelers for a more universal market.

Generative AI isn’t bad because it’s closed source. It isn’t bad because it’s made by bad companies. It’s bad because it was designed to “solve” the ultra wealthy needing other humans that dare work for pennies of that wealth to live. It was designed for bad intentions from the very beginning. There is no good generative AI no matter who tries to tell you otherwise. Yeah, generative AI is likely not going away, but don’t pretend that somehow makes it ok. It spotlights who all is bad. 🧵4/4

How do you plan to train these things without theft? Do you honestly believe there’s enough people that would opt-in to using their data to train the torment nexus just because it’s open source? What problems do you think you are actually solving for humanity outside of shareholder profits? For those defending generative AI saying shit like “it’s just bad because evil AI companies. We need open source AI” How does open sourcing AI help with data centers destroying communities, poisoning more fresh water than 10000 people could drink, or the fact that it only exists to try to replace humans for profits of the already ultra wealthy?
