So Claude apparently creates a “secret” URL for the conversations people have with it. URLs can be indexed if they can be reached. So Lindsey Graham is dead. It’s so weird that we get an instant update on his death, with the commensurate “let’s all pray for the family and remember him” stuff, but getting the health status of McConnell is like pulling teeth because it is politically disadvantageous if he dies at the wrong time. This makes it creepily obvious that the GOP are more concerned about how McConnell’s death affects their own purposes than any care for the man himself. Ghouls, hoarding his body in shadow. #uspol

There are 8.3 billion people on Earth. Gartner estimates AI companies will spend $2.5 trillion on AI service in 2026 alone. That works out to AI orgs having to wring an average of over $300 of AI revenue out of EVERY PERSON ON EARTH just to break even in 2026. And they wouldn't gamble more money than most nations' GDP expecting just to break even. That $300 per person figure is not even remotely close to what they're going to expect out of each of us. @QasimRashid@mastodon.social If birthright citizenship shouldn't be recognized, then most US citizens have no claim to citizenship. The vast majority of US citizens right now are citizens because at some point in their family tree, some noncitizen folks came over here and had a child. If that child doesn't have birthright citizenship, then neither did their children, or their children, all the way down to the people now. "No birthright citizenship" sure seems like pulling up the ladder behind you.

Another example of the itch community being generous.

Yesterday I released a new “Dungeon Hero” expansion. It’s free, but if you pay $3 or more you get access to bonus content.

Several people went ahead and paid, which is not surprising, but more than a quarter of them paid EVEN MORE than that! And a few left congratulatory messages too!

Yikes.

How did Mattel go from the “Barbie” movie to “Masters of the Universe?”

This show is crippling male insecurity in movie form, exactly what “Barbie” was about.

Clearly, a producer was working through some stuff. If you’re OK, you don’t take a character out of their fantasy world and send them to Earth to be threatened by a black female HR manager antagonist. Or compliment a woman by calling her a man. Or cast Jared Leto.

Did Mattel not SEE it?

2026 seems to be the year of people saying, "Today, we're here to have a discussion about [technology / policy / person]. Now, of course, there are valid [ethical / environmental / privacy] concerns about this topic, and I want to acknowledge those concerns up front. But I don't want that to derail the conversation, so..."

@anakin78z@mograph.social Oh, yes, this totally works. One of the best sessions of Sentinel Comics RPG I ever ran was an issue where a tsunami was heading towards a city. No villains, no evil stuff going on. Just superheroes trying to use their powers creatively to save civilians from a disaster. Tense. Powerful. Dramatic. Lots of creativity on display because we didn't fall back to "fightin' stuff". Just a great session. (Fun to GM, too!)

Okay, still trying to figure out what chapter of "Art of the Deal" this whole strategy is from:

* Straight of Hormuz was free and open to everyone.
* Kill children of people who could close it, angering them.
* They close the straight, causing us huge economic damage.
* Threaten war crimes if they don't open it back up.
* Back down when they call your bluff.
* Impotently grouse on social media that they won't open it, saying, "Open the fuckin' straight, praise be to Allah!"

@stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe Wow. That manager’s behavior is beyond unacceptable. Sorry you had to deal with that. If the owners are coming to you hat in hand, you can probably ask for some considerable concessions and assurances, like that guy being fired, even if you end up deciding not to renew, but still, it’s a bad outcome. People like that just ruin things around them, often for themselves, too. I hope it all works out for the best.
