Heute, Dienstag, steigt der nächste #diday in #Landshut. Wir holen uns unser freies digitales Leben zurück und wechseln zu demokratiefreundlichen digitalen Alternativen. Und wir sichern uns nach und nach unsere digitale Unabhängigkeit!

Bringt Eure Geräte und Sammelkarten mit! Wir haben wieder ein paar neue Rezepte dabei.

In Landshut immer am 3. Dienstag im Monat, immer um 19 Uhr und immer in der Zentrale zum Riebelwirt in der Freyung. Eintritt frei.

For those interested in translations: For these languages translations are poor (< 60%): ar, bg, bs, ca, cs. These are lagging behind (< 90%) : el, es, et, fi, fr, hr, hu, id. and these are alomost done (> 90%): it, ja, ko, nl, pl, pt, pt_BR, ru, sk, sr, sv, tr, uk, zh_CH, zh_TW. Thus help is appreciated. (German is 100%, as I did it a few weeks ago.)

Nomacs ImageLounge (open source, multi platform), is a perfect replacement for irfanview (Windows only): Easy image manipulation, batch processing, slideshows.

Anyhow it is not as well know and as widespread as it deserves.

Can you help completing the translation for your nativ language? Or spread this in your language's community?

Wobei sich dann natürlich die Frage stellt, womit die Fernwärme erzeugt wird. Wenn das auch fossile Brennstoffe sind, dann ist nicht viel gewonnen außer, dass man zentral besser auf eine andere Wärmigwelle. umstellen könnte. @uehmche@social.cologne

Und wen I first stepped over such a .gitkeep file, I thought is it something special, treated by git. I foubd is very well irritating (and still do). Thus a Readme file or a .gitignore (as suggested elsewhere in this conversion) is much easier to understand. @nedbat@hachyderm.io

Und in der Folge werden die Lebensmittelpreise steigen. Denn Biomasse für Biomenthan anzubauen ist dann gewinnbringender als Lebensmittel anzubauen. Darum sind die Pächter für Biomasse bereit, mehr Pacht zu zahlen und die Pachtpreise für Ackerflächen werden steigen. Das hat man in den letzten Jahren schon beobachten können. @ulrichkelber

Am Dienstag steigt der erste #diday in #Landshut. Wir laufen uns schon warm und haben allerlei vorbereitet – zum Beispiel Sammelkarten.

Jetzt im Februar am Dienstag den 24. um 19 Uhr in der Zentrale zum Riebelwirt in der Freyung. Und dann immer am 3. Dienstag im Monat, auch immer um 19 Uhr und die der Zentrale.

Dieses Gerät kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen. Mit dem schönen griffigen Drehknopf kann man super schnell durch die Musiksammlung scrollen. Und so ein Farbdisplay haben auch heute noch nicht viele Geräte. Gebraucht bekommt man sie zur Zeit für 20 oder 30 Euro. Und die Server Software ist ratzfatz installiert. Wenn man sowieso schon einen kleinen Server betreibt, zu Hause. Und das ;Beste: Keine Werbung für Spotify, Dizzer oder sonst einen Streaming-Dienst. 😀

So geil ist Open-Source:
Vor zwei Jahren hat Logitech die Squeezebox-Server abgeschaltet. Die Hardware gab es schon seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr zu kaufen. Weil die Software von Server und Gerät Open-Source ist, konnte die Community die Entwicklung übernehmen. Jetzt gibt es nicht nur Updates für die Server-Software, sondern sogar Firmware-Updates für die Geräte. Mega cool.
Damit können die tollen Geräte wie die Squeezebox-Radio noch locker zehn Jahre weiter genutzt werden.

Sehr guter Vergleich! Und nochmal andersherum formuliert: Wenn man will, dass sie Leute vom Auto auf das Rad umsteigen, dann muss man Radweg bauen (und im Winter räumen :-) und muss die Gründe für Autos wegschaffen. @ahhoi @verbraucherzentrale_sh

Correct. My point is: not everybody is able (for different reasons) to host their own forgejo server. Also federation is not yet here. So we need more associations like codeberg providing decentralized forges. I"m not sure if many other projects do like Guix and record the checksum of the whole repository so as to ensure reproducibility purely from source.

If the packager chooses to use the official tarball as "the source", validating the checksum would not have helped. :-( Also whether it's always possible to run running autoreconf depends on the content of the tarball.

Which brings me to the (preliminary) conclusion that we'd better use repos as source of trust @lispi314 @AndresFreundTec @glyph

@GIMP @doctormo Just a few weeks ago I created tooling for creating tutorial videos for #tryton. One simply writes a playbook what to say, where to click, what to enter, where to move, etc. Texts are converted using TTS, localization is easy due to gettext (and TTS).
