This is shocking. I'm shocked. It is as if I have been electrocuted.
Everyone enjoys ragging on Microsoft because they're a big target, but honestly, what the hell.
I haven't needed to use Word much in the last decade or so (Alhamdulillah), and practically the first thing I try to use is comically broken.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could store my language preferences in the cloud, they didn't stop to think if the automatic language detection was insane and would keep changing as I type even though it's turned off
I thought I was going crazy because the Word spell checker was saying "contains" isn't a word, but it turned out that it had "automatically detected" the language of the document as French, even though the whole thing is in English.
Chalk up another win for "smart"

@monkeyborg I was skeptical of AI, until I tried Claude and it told me there were two r's in strawberry
Had a huge surprise bill from Google Cloud after someone attacked my weather website or hijacked the Google Maps key or something (I'm not really clear on what happened)
I had to spend a couple hours screaming at their stupid support website and then their AI support chatbot and then their humans in multiple departments
I think they're going to refund it, but it's fully not sorted out yet
In any case I've shot my website in the head because this was the last ton of straws

A fun new way LLMs suck - I was in a meeting that they had the LLM make notes for, and the notes were wrong.
But everyone in the meeting is acting as if it's the truth even though they were there and they can just consult their memories to remember what was actually agreed.
