@leaf@furry.engineer For engineers in general, trying to figure out the specialization track (while dodging industry trend shifts) and identifying the right scale of a company is such a mess (you really don't know what you're signing up for until you've been there for a while).
100% agree with the advice.

@dragonminded@chitter.xyz Dang it, I must have tapped into muscle memory and used the dreamcast timing on the arcade cab. I'll have to try again next time I find the arcade version in the wild. Are limiter cuts the same thing as in F-Zero GX where you let off the throttle when above the speed cap?

@dragonminded@chitter.xyz lasyweb question if you've got a crazy taxi cab: I swear the dreamcast version of that game featured a boost when rapidly shifting between reverse and drive, but never got it to work on a cabinet. Am I misremembering a feature, doing it wrong, or was that not implemented on the cabinet version?

@foone@digipres.club I feel vindicated for using a grep+vim workflow instead of a fancy IDE for years prior to the LLM devs rediscovering that trick.

@jwcph A similar concern is the ongoing availability of a tool. Building up your workflows around a tool with sustainability issues or one which is solely controlled by subscriptions to one manufacturer has hurt other crafts time and time again. (e.g. Adobe products)
