I am currently in the process of evaluating a career change (yes, I hate AI that much). I've been working with a career counselling for the past couple months and we're close to the end of the process.
Before my next appointment, I wanted to "shadow" professionals in a certain field to get an idea of their day-to-day. At first I didn't have the answers I was (impatiently) waiting for, so I asked to push the appointment.
As I got the responses, I now wanted to have the appointment before the weekend to help me process my thinking.
Their answer was yes, but with a fee, to cover the management of so many changes.
I couldn't accept (honestly I found that ridiculous, their professional life revolves around appointments). She didn't mentioned their agreement, but I went and check and even though this is many changes, it doesn't fit into their agreement (meaning I shouldn't have to pay the fee) so I told them.
They were really pissed at me, saying indirectly how ungrateful I was being, after everything they "gave" me for free (certain rebates, longer appointments, work in-between appointments, etc), and that they had kids to feed too. And they retracted the offer for a Friday appointment that they offered me before (I thought it'd be win-win to fill their day)
I responded by saying I was grateful for those things mentioned (which they offered to me without me asking).
But now I'm torn. My usual reaction would be to drop the whole thing, cancel my next appointment and never interact with them again.
I'm not sure I feel comfortable being in their presence. Something in the dynamic got broken.
Am I overreacting?
I think I would get valuable insights in that appointment (which would likely be the last anyway). But I think it would make me very very anxious and uncomfortable.
Oh, and I picked that particular counsellor because they were specialized in neurodivergent people.

@adelinej@piaille.fr it was confirmed I'm not adhd, so I guess it's an autistic trait.
And it has kicked me a few times.

I hate waiting for people to respond to my messages. Why is it soooooooo long? How hard is it??
This is weighing on me like crazy.
Are other autistic people here impatient for some things?
For me, if I see any tiny tiny progress, I'm good. But nothing? I'm losing my mind.

Before my diagnosis, I was treating anxiety with my shrinks. One of the reframing that helped me the most was the relentless questioning "is this problem/stress/etc actual or potential"? This helped remind me that right now I'm safe. Even during the event in question I could use that question to help me realize that right now I'm safe.
When problems occur, they are actual and need addressing, but within this framework I feel empowered or maybe justified to address it.
I hope this helps a bit...

I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo. It seems best if I work on the illustration first.
I'm looking for advice, you can tell me if any of my assumptions is wrong or if I should think differently about any part of it.
So let's say I want to commission an artist for a 15x15 cm drawing, how much should I expect to pay?
Where can I find such artist?
How do you find the right tattoo artist?
What was your process and what did you appreciate about it?
