I'm an artist. I like nerd stuff. I curse. I like some woowoo. I'm grappling with making money ethically while detesting the rot of capitalism. I am furious about how the internet has gone to shit and I will go to great lengths to starve the corpos of my tasty data for no reason but pure spite. I'm kinda over the "world wide" web and I'm a lot more interested in the local web. I moved to Alaska by choice in 2005, lived in Washington DC area 2018-2021, back to Anchorage since 2022.

No worries. A good tattoo artist will make you comfortable and answer your questions. If they are rude or whatever, they are not the artist for you. They may want an nonrefundable art deposit up front. If you aren't vibing with the art process, better to walk away than get tattooed with something you don't love.
The problem with finished work is you fall in love with something that may not work well on your skin. Trust the person holding the needles.
