@behdad I don't think Variable Fonts could have been adopted much faster in practice. Designers are more conservative than you think and don't forget that many corporate identities date back to before 2015. BTW where can I find more info on the variable-composites thing? I had never heard of it tbh.

@afewbugs @nlupo @Natasha_Jay I did someting similar during art school, but not on purpose. I did not want to spraypaint that cardboard man in my room so I went to a silent corner of the parking lot. The life-size outlines of the man remained there for years, and many people wondered which gruesome crime had happened there.

@burger_jaap@mastodon.social Weet niet of het beleid is, maar wegenbouwers hier (033) voor de deur laden al hun kleine voertuigen ook op via een bestaande paal. Bijkomend is dat ze André Hazes minder hard hoeven te zetten om hem boven hun machines uit te kunnen horen. (Die ene grote graafmachine is nog wel diesel.)

Doordat je niet zo wordt afgeleid met YouTube reclame eromheen is de conversie veel groter, de toegankelijkheid is beter en het ziet er veel mooier uit. En dan heb je ook nog de opties voor meertalige ondertiteling die bij HTML5 beter zijn dan YouTube.
