Whenever I see something sharp on the ground where wheeled vehicles travel, I pick it up. It makes me feel good to know that I'm potentially preventing someone from having a flat tire. It's a small good deed. Well today, some careless bastard left a bunch of these in the street, and I picked them all up. Does this qualify me to be sainted?

Hey. You wanna donate some money to a good cause? You can reward yourself for being such a charitable person afterwards by getting a nice coffee! 😎

@var@mastodon.social why not both? It's decentralized AND the most popular instances are stages for CCP propaganda. My main account is in lemmy.ml, so I know what you mean, but I can still subscribe and view feeds from other servers, right?
Hey Californians, let's get Approval Voting so we can elect candidates that actually represent us! Stop voting for the lesser evil! End the polarization that results from our lousy "first-past-the-post" voting system. Please take a moment to read this petition, and sign it if you like it! https://www.equal.vote/upgrade-ca-primaries?recruiter_id=294596

What is the opposite of an intrusive thought - a good intrusive thought? I've decided to start paying attention to them:
- "Maybe I should raise my standing desk?"
- "I shouldn't eat that - I'm not really hungry."
- "I haven't thought about that person in a while, maybe I should call them to see how they're doing?"
I identify with a lot of the ADHD memes and content. I don't know if I have it, and I don't really care. I just want to be high functioning. Let the good intrusive thoughts in FTW!
😂 😭 "Ugly Gerry is a free font created with real US congressional districts. The name comes from gerrymandering, the process that made possible such weird shapes." https://fontsarena.com/ugly-gerry/
WTF, GitHub?!? Why do they ignore the org and repo? This is 100% a huge error on Github's part... We should definitely still be using pinned SHAs everywhere. https://www.vaines.org/posts/2026-03-24-the-comforting-lie-of-sha-pinning/
Tire shop workers have so much higher risk aversion than I do... You think those tires are bald? Come on, that's barely even receding hairline... I'll bring the car back when I see metal or a bubble.
(If I die in an accident because of worn tires, will someone please reply with a Simpsons Nelson "Ha ha!" picture?)
If I had to vote between Trump and Claude, I would pick Claude as the lesser evil.
Optimistically, I think it could do really great things, but I don't like that it's a centralized model controlled by a single entity.
Pessimistically, I think it's like bringing a nuke to a gunfight. Once it got a foothold in politics, I don't know if a regular human could ever beat it again, because it can spit out infinite pages of very convincing propaganda.
Interesting nonetheless.
I love #indie #videogames. These look amazing! https://youtu.be/Og6_t5eiz_s?si=UyCZFERvZx96ZpBl
LOL, they got a shot of me working hard at this #sandiego #remotework #meetup: https://www.10news.com/news/local-news/san-diego-news/san-diegans-work-remotely-at-pacific-beach-amid-winter-heatwave
TIL: If you have ingress-nginx set as your default IngressClass, it automatically "stamps" a `.spec.ingressClassName: nginx` on Ingresses that don't have `kubernetes.io/ingress.class: nginx` or `.spec.ingressClassName` set. But if you create an Ingress with one of those two settings, then remove the setting later, ingress-nginx will not "stamp" it, because it only does that when the Ingress is first created. Anyway, that was a weird bug that ate an hour of my life.
I gave a five-minute "Intro to the Fediverse" lightning talk at the UpSCALE event at the Southern California Linux Expo (SCaLE):

What a great conference! If you like open source, Linux, decentralization, and hacking, I highly recommend it!
See you next year, @socallinuxexpo@social.linux.pizza !
