@mhoye You know what they say: Some heroes don't have Vapes

@bagder@mastodon.social Yes. While I can't prove it, it tracks with A stealing the playbook of O who already said that they will likely pivot from B2C into B2B. One last fear mongering push and tons of directed compute at reputable projects and suddenly your marketing far surpasses that of any benchmark.

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt just finished watching Alien: Earth with @dotmargui@social.dotmavriq.life .. this resonates!

Mumma!

@troed Well it's hard even for people as knowledgeable as you, Devs like me and most people. Most people are end-users for the B2C LLMs that are being quite forcefully shoved down their throats. More enshittification with more tracking. Most people don't see personal development gains or research speeds... furthermore, even for Devs & Researchers, it IS a dysphoric experience a lot of the time as it's novel and it's hard to gauge how much power to give it, review pipelines etc. It will take time

Tiny update of the day:

Went to the post office with the better half. Rapidly improving from the #allergy

Oh and we got Mullvad VPN and SVT Play going on the TV so I can FINALLY enjoy me some På Spåret and Uppdrag Granskning! 🇸🇪 😇

Today's dinner consisted of #Borscht . Delicious as always!

So... I ended up spending the hours around midnight all the way until 09:00 in the ER for my allergy.

I got #antihistamines IV which... is a first.

It sucked, but the people in the hospital were nice and now I feel very good and my symptoms aren't even 20% of what I experienced the day before. Got a five day prescription to run through here in the next coming days... What an adventure. Glad it's over

#allergies

@erikaheidi@fosstodon.org Yeah, isn't it also delightfully ironic? If it were to speed us up more than ever before... why aren't we collaborating for a united outcome? Where is the mass-boost in revolutionairy open source softeare? My understanding is that the current iterations of AI are really quite sharp at cheer mimicry with alterations pertaining to identity. When it comes to novel software approaches it stalls. This is why loud voices on linkedin laud while devs don't that often.

@erikaheidi@fosstodon.org Agreed! Cool!

@avandeursen@mastodon.acm.org Enjoyable read!

@doktorzjivago@mastodonsweden.se Tusen tack!

@iam_jfnklstrm@social.linux.pizza Absolutely not! Very much a painless process. Sway mimics i3 if you have any kind of experience with it.

Just waved goodbye to lots of wonderful colleagues at Nordhealth.

Hopefully my next adventure is just around the corner, fingers crossed!

We are SO back.

@alice@lgbtqia.space I mean... at least don't funnel it through automated translation and/or AI... have a human vet whether or not it's properly marketed on sites. My god... That one made me burst out laughing. It's axiomatically horrible. I've seen bad ones before but this one takes the cake.

@RickiTarr@beige.party Hey at least it's not a Special military operation...right?... ... right?

@splendorr@mastodon.social Fantastic job on the Caves of Qud website!

@nina_kali_nina@tech.lgbt I keep making this point: https://social.dotmavriq.life/notice/B370pZf7gvQD6Qqlma . As an individual, ensure that you leverage it for emancipation, for you AND for others, and not as a TEMU-version of Rokos Basilisk.

@viktorstrate Awesome!

Today marks the fourth day in our new apartment with the lovely @dotmargui@social.dotmavriq.life . I decided to be resourceful and use the skills my parents gave me and it came out like this!

A carrot, mushroom and zucchini soup with a dollop of sour cream. And then two panfried toast sandwiches with #Portuguese rolo de carne made by our local butcher. Buttered thinly with sour cream on one side, a calabrese pesto on the other side and some aged gouda cheese for good measure too.

Came out delicious!

@Karolina@mastodonsweden.se Harsyra även känt som? Häftigt!

@dpk Which will inevitably lead to permacomputing meaning software and game quality will matter again🫡 (you lose some.. )

@mhoye Listen to the talk with Alex O'Conner and Slavoj Zizek. Contextually befitting discourse actually. It's on YouTube

@yschaeff@fosstodon.org Based modern steganography

@troed I'd stick around just to help you get on your feet with OpenSuse. Think pf it as a passionate grudge against Ubuntu for years of user neglect and disgusting recruitment practises.

@Karolina@mastodonsweden.se riktigt tjusiga!

@Nickiquote@mstdn.social u wot m8

@Daojoan Is this not the message of Skin in The Game?

@iam_jfnklstrm@social.linux.pizza Nah. Wayland is astounding and only getting better. The critique has to do with Linux culture. When it came on the scene it barely supported anything and was broken... the frontier people work on it, the early adopters are silent, the majority occassionally take the bait from early adopters and spiral in their lament for functionality. TODAY though? If you run modern applications and don't like screen-tear I'd reccomend it over X11

@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social You go Nick!

@brucelawson Oh yeah!? Next you're gonna tell me that enforcing manifest v3 is undemocratic and that not all sites should use AMP!!! @Vivaldi

Benn Jordan explaining contemporary #politics from an American lens. Highly, highly recommended! https://youtu.be/4FZy1lBNykA?is=p6rasEqufg0t1scp

So I missed a lunch invitation due to my eye-thing which is lovely.

But my partner bought me some lovely tea and a cooling mask!

I guess masks are my new thing in 2026... I prefer this one though.

Quick ruccola pesto with gnocchi for lunch... and the code isn't gonna write itself so I'm back at it! 👨‍💻

Yes, I totally configured my #Waybar to hold a counter for the next episode!

#Marvel movies have fallen off mostly for me, being an avid fan of the comics growing up, but the original DareDevil series was the first Marvel series and they sourced the right people, like Philip Silvera and the likes, who also did wonders bringing the vision of John Wick to life, proving once again that stunts simply can not be replaced with cheap #CGI or #AI.

First episode of #DareDevil was awesome. Looking forward to the next!

So I posted a couple of days back that I tried a facemask and that it "made me itchy".

Let me rephrase that.
It caused what is likely accute allergic dermatitis. Something like Type IV Delayed Hypersensitivity reaction to something in that facemask.

In plain English:
I look like a dying elephant and will probably need to seek medical attention.

Flagged the image of my eyes in case there's a sensitive audience out there for these kinds of things.

@dwardoric@chaos.social hhmmm...

@Gargron I'm still not over the A Capella version of Writing On A Wall from half a lifetime ago. https://youtu.be/6IVrzNK1pZY?is=ofzuk1Ki1SUQWkbj

Glad Påsk! 🐣🐤🥚🍰

#Easter #Påsk #GladPåsk

A fairly slow morning. Worked on my #Laravel project.. and then I got the OG #Starcraft running on #Fedora 43 in #Sway with #Rofi and all that good stuff.

I think I'll go out on the balcony and read some after lunch.

😌 aaah...

France is banning white snus (nicotine pouches) starting April 1st, 2026. The ban covers sale, use, and possession, even for travelers, classifying the product as a toxic substance. Other European nations may follow.

Australian levels of personal infringement. Kids are picking it up because STUPID shops put it in their hands but guess what: I'd rather have them snus than to buy drugs on the Deep Web,or smoke anything for that matter. It will mainly hurt mobility of adults that rather not smoke.

( Stuff about a very important Swedish gameshow where you follow a Train camera to guess the destination ) 🇸🇪 42!

@zersiax@cupoftea.social I entertained an idea today that I haven't been able to let go of... for my personal website I sometimes hide things for those that like to poke and prod... but I kind of want to somehow hide things that COULD be discovered for the visually impaired as well...so now my mind is spinning as to how one could do that in smart ways
