Wow guys. Seriously. How do you do Python without driving yourself crazy hearing "space space space space space" from your SR all day because you're mashing your arrow keys and space key to try and satisfy its indentation rules? At least in brace-style languages I can write and test unindented and then use something like Artistic Style afterwards... What's the trick?

It's amazing when a company remembers my accessible preference. They've sent me a form out on an audio CD. I'd be very interested to discover exactly how they want me to fill that in. My instinct would be to record the answer after the question and then send them that recording in an email, but somehow I don't think they'll accept that.

@LockOrientation@tweesecake.social Whenever I've tried Bluetooth keyboards, I've ended up with letters duplicating, keystrokes being missed, or the connection dropping altogether. I'd much rather read correctly dictated words without punctuation than garbled input from a Bluetooth keyboard, because Bluetooth is about as capable of holding a connection as a human hand is of holding water. Different input methods work for different people. Something being available doesn't mean it is reliable, practical, or easier for everyone to use.

@Scott@tweesecake.social I also inherited a record player from my great uncle that my mum tried to connect to the system, but it's still playing through it's own builtin speaker at the moment, so think that's the next challenge to tackle when she next visits.

@Scott@tweesecake.social So the CD and amp are Yamaha and the speakers are Wharfedale. Not sure of model numbers though. The CD player holds five CDs.

Currently playing a CD full of FLAC files on my new hifi.
Yes you heard me correctly. This is the first time I've ever heard of a standalone CD player being able to play FLAC files.
Absolutely blown away right now.

@alexchapman@vee.seedy.cc Hahaha haven't played knight manager in a while actually. Found gameplay way too unbalanced when I used to play. You'd get lulled into a false sense of security thinking you were climbing the ranks really well almost like it was too easy and then you'd reach a cliff edge and you couldn't reach above that point and then you'd find others who were way ahead. It was very poorly documented as well. That was about three or four years ago now though so might well have changed.

@menelion @johann @jonathan859 @somegregariousdude You don't have to contact them though. NVDA will read the word you have to type if you're in focus mode. Not sure how other screen readers react to it but I should imagine it will be the same if it can access the field's label text.

@johann @somegregariousdude @menelion Yeah. But you have to be in focus mode to hear it, and you have to really pay attention. Try to find that in browse mode... it's not there. So I can understand why a lot of people won't find it. Took me a good ten minutes.

@StroongeCast@hear-me.social Wow. The worst I can complain about with the jobcentre/benefits stuff is inaccessible letters. I haven't had to go for an interview in over 10 years now, and the one I did go to they were perfectly reasonable with me and explained everything, including what they were writing. I've had bad experiences with carers but that's another story. What you and those other guys went through is disgusting.
