@matt@toot.cafe Anything that sufficiently embeds itself in the economy will find good and bad use cases associated with it. Once we have a car-oriented society, there will be cases both of lives saved by someone being driven to the hospital and others where someone's dog got run over. I agree we should look at the good and the bad, but adding up individual cases is quite hard.

I got to the stage in my career where I was overwhelmed by the accidental complexity of programming. Claude's raised the proportion of my time engaged in what I regard as the essential complexity of problems I'm trying to solve.

@emilybache@sw-development-is.social As to why it's so hard, I agree it's hard but why should it be easy? It's a whole new way of approaching coding. Since TDD affects what code you write, it's intrusive into your process. I think it's our expectations of ease that are off.
