With the heat in central Europe, I'm missing the time back in March when I stood on a Mountain in -20f to take this photo.

After 1hr I had to go inside because my gloved hands were too numb to use the camera.

I wish I could stand in the cold now.

The Urnersee in Switzerland!

I got this photo in a brief gap between a snow storm and clouds so thick you couldn't see more than five feet in front of you, all while talking to Lisa on the phone, who was on a work trip. Was a hectic fifteen minutes.

Paris in June.

I think March into April, and September into October, are my favorite times of the year to be in Paris.

Though last year the end of July for some reason was super quiet. There were minimal tourist, and a lot of locals were already gone for a month of vacation.

I had a lovely trip to Belgium and The Netherlands for the Dutch Pen Show.

The weather was super rainy, and I only got to do sunrise photos one morning, while in Ghent, but I did get a few good pics, like this one...

I'm heading to Belgium for a few days, and then the Netherlands for the Dutch Pen show!

The last time I was there, it was winter, and I only saw the sun for about an hour over the course of 12 days. So I'm hoping for some better lighting this week for photos!

We have gotten to do a fair amount of travel, and the Dolomites, part of the Italian Alps, are one of the few places I've been to more than once.

There's something glorious about the mountains there.

I went to the local museum yesterday to verify some research, and I saw this painting from 1880 by Karl Weysser.

A lot can change in a 146 years... and yet a lot can stay the same.

The streets here in Heidelberg are always so quiet in the morning.

Deliveries usually start around 6:30 to 7am. So until then the streets are empty.

Then you have workers and students out and about, and by 9-ish the tourist fill the streets.

This is from our trip to Strasbourg, a week and a half ago.

We just finished all the cheese we brought back with us yesterday! I'm always a sucker for a good comté or morbier, but I've really fallen in love with Saint-Félicien and Délice de Bourgogne.

French cheeses are soooo good.

Grindelwald, Switzerland.

I stood outside in -4f/-18c weather for an hour with an additional -20f windchills to get this photo last month, and I think it was so worth it!

It's no wonder I always use any excuse to visit Grindelwald. No matter the season, it is gorgeous.

Spring in Strasbourg, France is so freaking lovely!

Once you add in a few good coffee shops, one of my favorite stationary stores (Monogram), and the gorgeous setting... it's no wonder we come so often.

Inks I'm currently using in my pens!

Imperial Purple, Kon-Peki, and Tsutsuji are my three favs, and are ALWAYS in a pen.

I just found out today that Sailor is discontinuing a lot of inks, so I'll probably need to find similar colors to replace the Sailor inks once my bottles are empty.

Other than the Alps, Alsace is my most visited spot since we moved. Partially because it's close, but also because it's so pretty.

I always feel like we are walking through a movie when we go.

Sunrise in Tuscany.

I shot this from the walls of San Gimignano, looking across the surrounding hills.

I hadn't known before we arrived that the region was so hilly, or lush. I had thought it was mostly orchards or farming, which it was, but also it was beautiful.

The Duomo in Florence.

While taking this, someone tried to pick-pocket me, but got nothing, because I had emptied my pockets ahead of time.

The only other time someone has tried to pickpocket me was in Paris at an xmas market.

Though in Bath, a British guy told me to give him my wallet. I told him to go f-himself, and he told me I was rude. Europe is very different from where I grew up.

I have a trip to Belgium and the Netherlands in June.

I can't decide between adding in Bruges (the photo below), or Ghent.

I have a few winter photos of Bruges, but would love some with greenery. On the other hand, I've never been to Ghent...

On my trip to the Alps last week I stopped in Bern.

There is a really nice pen shop there called Watch and Write, where I picked up a vintage Lamy 25p!

I also got checked out some museums and did some sunrise photos...

I had a wonderful time this past week in Switzerland. It doesn't matter the season, I just love visiting the Alps.

Plus I got to visit a friend in Alsace and do some stationary/pen shopping in Bern. It was solid trip.

I spent a week in Paris and now I'm heading to the Alsace and then the Alps!

I'm not sure how much time we have left here in Germany and Europe (hopefully more) but just in case I'm doing my best to enjoy my favorite places.

Neuschwanstein isn't my favorite castle... but it's one of those ones that you kind of just have to go see. It is so amazing from the outside.

For a more lived-in castle I much prefer the one here in Heidelberg or Burg Eltz.

Prague was one of the earliest trips we took after moving to Germany, and still one of the prettiest cities we've been to.

I'm not sure when or if we will get back to it, but I think I'd really like to see it dusted with snow.

I'm going back to Paris soon. So I thought I'd share this from last summer.

France was my most traveled to country last year, but It's only a 1hr drive and sometimes we go because the grocery stores are better.

I do like Paris though. Mostly for the coffee and stationary.

Today marks exactly 3 1/2 years that we have lived in Heidelberg.

Fall has wound down here in Germany, and it feels like winter, but back in October we took a trip to Cochem, and it wasn't as vibrant as growing up on the US East Coast, but it was lovely seeing a bit of color along with the rolling hills and castles.

The Christmas markets have opened!

I stopped by one of ours in Heidelberg today, and I know we will go back multiple times over the next month.

It's a really special time of year to living in Germany. From the big cities to the smallest towns, everywhere is decorated and super cute.

No matter the season, the Jungenfrua region in Switzerland is always stunning.

Other than Alsace (which is an hour away) I've revisited Lautenbrunnen (in the photo) & Grindelwald more than anywhere else since we've moved to Germany. Can you tell why?

It feels like fall is slipping by too fast.

The trees were naked here in Heidelberg about two weeks earlier than in the previous three years.

Lago di Braies.

It rained every day on our trip to the Dolomites, but that didn't stop the views from being beautiful.

Of all the glacial lakes I've visited, I think this one is my second favorite behind Oeschinensee, in Switzerland. Though the hike here was wayyyy more chill and relaxing.
