I agree with this article that the Linux community has been really upping their efforts to get more people onboard with using Linux as their daily driver.

It's great to see this gradual shift where we are moving away from using ideological statements to convince people on why they "should" use Linux to now emphasizing the practical benefits of making the switch.

I was kind of aware already that Firefox didn't have the best security, but this article just takes that to a whole another level.

This doesn't just look worse than Chromium, but it's actually, really bad — especially on Linux.

While we can dismiss some issues as we move towards Wayland and Pipewire, there's a whole bunch of other issues that still have to be dealt with. This affects Firefox forks like LibreWolf too, so this is quite serious.

Who knew that it's possible to boot straight into UEFI setup by just running "systemctl reboot --firmware-setup"? 🤯

It makes all those times I was mashing F12, as soon as the computer started booting, utterly pointless — especially after getting Linux installed.

Well, at least I know about it now.

@edendestroyer@mastodon.social I think it is important to consider the preferences of each and every user. By that, I mean any user or instance should have the ability to opt out of being included in the algorithm's results. Better yet, it should be opt in. Being able to configure and customize its behavior and results would also be great.
