I look at cool new email clients like #Mailtemi (@MailtemiApp@mastodon.social) and #Parula https://parula.beonex.com and think it would be neat if they collaborated to deliver a rock solid cross platform solution rather than both re-inventing parts of the wheel. I need something that supports ExchangeOnline and Gmail, and would love to see native Proton support baked in, and really excited to see JMAP support becoming real (and being led by EU based companies)

#anthropic have found a good way to get people using tokens on #fable ... Have #opus go offline right when I am trying to do something! Shame they don't allow rollover of unused tokens to next week (that would be a good incentive to address uptime)

Someone might not want to hear "an inconvenience of crows" but for someone else it's fine, so don't force the creator to self-censor (unless they choose to), put the onus on people who are scared of words and ideas.

Jokes aside, politicians need to be held accountable for their (in)actions and those making obscene amounts of money sticking to fossil fuels and pumping out pollution need to be contained (but they have very good PR people and can afford influence).

Friends for 20 years and I still get a kick out of watching other people process it for the first time. She deliberately goes full Glasweigen to double the impact!

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us since we found out about the new rules we have been trying to get a straight answer if my daughter (born in Australia, to me, a British citizen now with dual Citizenship, but has never claimed citizenship but now appears to have it bestowed on her de facto, but we're not sure without applying) needs to apply for a British passport to visit. Not sure if this season of the UK is based on "Yes Minister!" or "Brazil"

@scalzi yeah, my 9 Pro has become a nuisance. Even charging to 100% rather than 80, and no real change in behaviour it is on battery saver by lunch time. Really hoping fix is soon (taken to carrying my old Pixel 3 as backup and that lasts all day still!)

I was frustrated to discover the 2018 Street Bob doesn't get the cool LED replacement indicators as an option all thanks to a missing (and very time consuming to fit) wire. One upgrade I would love as well is backlit handlebar controls, but also not an option. Stupid me getting an early FXBB before the wrinkles were beaten out of the design!

@taatm @mhoye @Gargron I had initially thought have the OS do the verification, and only respond "true" or "false" to a transparent condition (eg user gets to see the app is asking for age>=18) but putting the onus onto Govt entities is even better (single point of failure, and we know how they love to shirk blame, but tie it into personal consequences for the politicians in power at the time of a breach and maybe it would work)

#electronics, #arduino and #raspberrypi folks ... I want to build a standalone (battery or USB power) NFC reader that can connect to a wifi host and when a tag is tapped either query a remote supabase DB or local sqllite/csv source (thinking micropython or similar) to see if the serial number is found, if yes record it (again locally or in supabase) and make a green light come on or red light if not found (different sounds would be nice too). Any suggestions on cheapest but reliable hardware?

@eivind I (late 50s Mediterranean colouring, bearded guy) did feel compelled to offer to help someone who was struggling to park (BMW M3 Comp that they were woefully unfamiliar with) the other day - they, 20 something, got quite offended so I just watched him kerb rash his own very expensive wheels and still not end up properly in the space. I presume Daddy or the rental company are going to be pissed with him. I perhaps forgot to mention I had been driving the same model at a track all weekend!

@jimbob seems like a them problem, assuming they are monetizing every byte of data they gather on you. Looking at purchasing a car at the moment, and apart from blind spot detection and automatic cruise control there isn't much in the way of recent technology I care for. In fact a lot of the insistent beeping, flashing lights, and jerking the steering wheel feels like the opposite of safety features.
