@rferl.org I have a suspicion that Trump offered a license as an excuse for not having to provide the Patriots, giving #Putin considerable respite by leaving #Ukraine defenseless against his ballistic missiles until production of the Patriots in Ukraine could be established. But now he's frustrating that as well.

Absolutely.
From the article it is obvious that Zelensky referred to how the military is used in Israel to provide security to the population.
Suggesting that he wants #Ukraine to engage in the appalling kind of genocidal expansionism that #israel has undertaken following the 7 october, 2023 Hamas attack, is utterly misleading and dishonest.

Verreweg het grootste deel van het vlees wordt geëxporteerd, dus het heeft maar beperkt effect als we er in Nederland minder van eten.
Het grote probleem is dat de lasten (stikstofcrisis) niet gedragen worden door degenen die daaraan verdienen.
Een eerlijke belasting op veeteelt volgens het principe "de vervuiler betaalt", is wat hier nodig is.
Denemarken kan het ook...

Ga je er dan vanuit dat vlees *uitsluitend* afkomstig kan zijn van dieren in megastallen, die daar nooit uit komen, en waarvan de staartjes worden afgebrand?
Als mensen niet 100% vegetarisch eten, volgt daar nog niet uit dat die het van de kiloknallers moeten hebben.

Die meningen gaan over de omstandigheden waaronder dieren worden gehouden.
Van misstanden op dat gebied af willen, houdt niet per se in dat je tegen bent op het uiteindelijk slachten van dieren om ze op te eten.
Dus wat is hier nu eigenlijk de tegenstelling tussen mening en handelen 🤔

I do find the fact that Brendan Eich is the CEO there somewhat objectionable, but Mozilla, for example, has not exactly been free of controversies either.
I came to the conclusion that it's not a decisive factor for me.

I remember well that you wanted to fix all the compiler errors in your program before handing in your stack of cards again, because you would usually only find your output on the table next to the line printer once a day.
The university had terminals. But we freshmen did not have access to them.

The ordering of the list appears mostly based on personal preference, no clear criteriums are given that I would consider relevant.
I saw a test in which Mullvad (even if used without VPN) came out best wrt privacy, although not as user friendly, and Brave as the best choice for most users.

Toen wij jaren geleden rondreden in Griekenland viel me op dat er bijna nergens McDonald's's waren te vinden.
Ik vond dat ook wel logisch omdat als je zin hebt in een snelle hap de Grieken veel smakelijkere opties hebben, die ook niet eens duur zijn.

Conclusion is at timestamp 15:20: Brave is the best for most users. Mullvad browser is best of test, but not the browser for everyone.
Maybe it's an idea to use Mullvad as default, and keep another browser around in case it doesn't work well with certain websites

Praktisch gezien is het grootste nadeel de lagere energiedichtheid t.o.v. lithium-ion (afgezien van de nog hogere prijs, doordat er nog gebrek is aan grootschalige productie).
Maar dat verschil is ook weer niet extreem. Dus waar een wat hoger gewicht en volume minder speelt, zoals voor thuisbatterijen, is te verwachten dat op de langere termijn de voordelen van natrium-ion ruimschoots gaan overwegen.

Nou, zo simpel is het niet.
De overheid bepaalt dat het KNMI zich primair moet richten op waarschuwingen voor gevaarlijk weer en het algemene weerbeeld.
De commerciële weerbedrijven, die gebruik maken van de KNMI-data, interpreteren dat als dat het in een app beschikbaar maken van die data niet tot de taak van KNMI hoort, en daarom "oneerlijke concurrentie" zou zijn.
Helaas zwicht het KNMI voor hun dreigen met rechtzaken.

It definitely isn't as simple as lower price -> better outcome. Sometimes it may be preferable to pay more for the (on first glance) same product or service, if the organization behind it has an established reputation.

Well, you made me curious, and I checked all these out.
For me, only Ladaniva is worth listening to; the 2025 winning song started out promising, but I found the bombastic ending irritating; the rest is not to my taste overall.
Since a long, long time ago, I have associated the #Eurovision Song Contest with having to sit through a lot of mediocrity in the vain hope of hearing a really good song like ABBA's Waterloo.
It's just not worth it for me.

The song is OK for Eurovision standards, but that's not saying much.
The last time that I was really impressed by a #Eurovision Song Contest entry was 52 years ago.

What I saw was a *quite big amount of rather specific* basic telemetry.
You may be anonymous in the sense that the website may not know your name, but it makes you pretty recognizable, which can be abused e.g. to present you with a higher booking price if you're a returning visitor.

Ephimenco heeft wel mooi Brandan de aanleiding gegeven tot het schrijven van dat opiniestuk, waar Trouw dan ook ruimte voor heeft gemaakt.
Als er alleen in je krant zou staan wat je mening bevestigt, zou het een gezapige boel worden.

Het risico nemen dat je bij zo'n actie gepakt wordt, kan ik moeilijk als laffer zien dan helemaal niets doen.
De vraag is of het niet meer weerstand tegen je zaak wekt dan aandacht. Dus wellicht dom. Maar niet laf.
