@pheonix@hachyderm.io the vast majority of my searches online see me hitting (and blocking) 2 or 3 AI slop pages before I get to an actual answer written by a human. Usually that website has a Cloudflare check first to make it is not me who is an AI. Those are the two options on the internet today: the website is AI or you are AI

@Asbestos@pnw.zone in reality, those making informed, reasoned decisions should come out on top more often than not, but people only see the outliers and would rather pick those that turn out to be right by luck than go for (complicated) reasonings that are anyway not guaranteed to pay off

@opalfroot yes I notice it. people stop thinking, they, at best, review AI's thinking. and more likely just eyeball it or let you eyeball it for them. any attempt at a reflection is met with "AI can help with that", nipping in the bud any chance at a deeper conversation

I have used gimp at work with several employers. I know what Gimp means but never thought twice about it. If I stopped at every double-entendre I can spot or other word association I can come up with, I'd never get anything done
