I tried JLCPCB's aluminium PCBs for the first time. Not as a PCB, but to create a front panel for my SO2R controller project (SO2RMiniPlus). I love the result and it is too cheap to be true (even if you consider that about 15% of the alu boards will have imperfections on the silk screen) #hamradio #electronics

Spent a few hours in the May VHF/UHF contest with my 4el LPDA from central Munich. Conditions were decent, the best DX was HA6W on 2m with 662km, and OM3W on 70cm with 505km. #hamradio

@4X6GP Thanks for the hint, going to give it a try. Not really used a GUI file manager in years, and on the console I occasionally use MidnightCommander (mostly to do FTP and if I need to delete files with weird names I cannot escape properly :), but some of the features sound very useful!

A few days ago I issued the 1st EHSC membership certificate, since taking over the responsibility for the club from Olaf, DL1OP (R.I.P.) in May 2023. To join the EHSC, three "sponsor" QSOs in #morsecode with existing members at a speed of 60 words per minute (300 letters per minute) are required. #qrq #hamradio

Today I moved https://lcwo.net/ (Learn CW Online) to a new home.

It was living on a shared hosting platform since 2008, but with the steady growth of users, I had to move on. The previous hosting (randonly?) blocked IP ranges when the server load grew too high. Not acceptable.

So I commissioned a new, beefy VPS for all of my ham radio projects and LCWO is now running smoothly on it. 82 users are logged in right now, the system load average is 0.2.
