  I wonder if you have noticed this too: elder relatives are getting a whole lot more phishing attempts, both online and on the phone. Every now and then I also suspect that sales people have talked them into upgrading their plans, whatever they may be: mobile data plans for countries they will never visit, cyber security insurances including encrypted clouds they don't use, anti-virus alternatives to what they already pay for, backup alternatives to what they already pay for, and on and on....

  Ugh. I got the first ai bugfix for a project of mine.   I’ve noticed this “grass mowing along the edges” in recent weeks and I approve of not mowing patches of grassland (or just mowing it once a year). Recently, in a cemetery, I saw a sign explaining it as deescalation measure: to mow the edges is to signify that the rest was not mowed on purpose.   The first website I remember seeing that collected hiking suggestions was Wandersite, by Ursula Brehm. She just collects the routes including multi-day walks, with links to hotels and restaurants, non-commercial, with a design that seems unchanged since 2003. I love it. It’s what I used for my (incomplete) traversal of Switzerland in 2008/2009.
