@signalapp@mastodon.world Why should I donate when the CEO gets such a huge compensation already? Aren't there discount CEOs available? EDIT: idk what I was misremembering (maybe the 35.8 $M expenses/revenue) but this shows the c-suite compensation and it is less than I remembered. https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/824506840 EDIT2: all the employees are getting $20 mil combined. Not sure how much of that is c suite.

@signalapp@mastodon.world we don't depend on signal. Signal depends on our donations. People depend on WhatsApp because they are sure to find anyone and everyone there. (And so can authorities). Next most popular one but far less than WA is Telegram. These are not my choices. I don't donate for them. Signal is for those similar minded people whom I'll never meet nor share my daily stories with. Signal is like that secret app for the one special person whom you beg to install so you could serve them like a simp

@signalapp@mastodon.world been doing it for ages now. Nothing is free, so I donate to all software and services I regularly use. More people should do so. Big Tech made "free" services way too normalised. People want privacy, but hardly realise that those "free" services are paid too...
