Outside the back door, the fig that I planted a dozen or more years ago received a severe pruning at my hands this year. As a consequence (?), this year it is absolutely covered in tiny little figs that will mature this summer. I must plan what to do to use them all!

@tompearce49@mastodon.scot From experience, they make good jam, or are lovely roasted, halved with a splash of balsamic vinegar and honey, to serve with meat.

@tompearce49@mastodon.scot fig biscuits! we were given some figs from a neighbour's tree last year and husband reduced them and put them into fig biscuits. they were among the nicest biscuits i've ever experienced.

@tompearce49@mastodon.scot We like them stewed in blackcurrant juice - which really be Kir, but I don't drink alcohol. It's seriously nice! You may get some of these small figs drop off - don't worry about that. Equally some may overwinter to become fruit next year. Do NOT feed the plant, you risk losing all the fruit if you do.
