@Tarah My shortcut for launching Chrome has --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled on the cmdline, so all the good blockers still work. At least for now. 😂

@Tarah Personally, I eventually got used to FF because it has good extension and adblock support on Android. Every mobile browser that isnt chrome does major UI overhauls every 12-18 months and that is never fun.

@Tarah uBlock Lite is the only legit one. Google intentionally nerfed it though. Even if you insist on Chrome though I don't see why you insist on the Google-branded, Google-backdoored version. Any other Chromium is the same thing in terms of compatibility and functionality, but without Google. But it's unlikely to get you better ad blocking because keeping the stuff upstream ripped out would be too hard.

@Tarah To block _ads_ on _Chrome_, I'd go AdBlockPlus. If I was actually concerned with tracky crap, I'd go with Privacy Badger. (They play well together; I've done it.) Ghostery IME was slow and didn't catch everything. And of course uBlock Origin doesn't play well with Chrome. Further about that, deponent keepeth their big mouth shut, per your request.

@Tarah Attacking the problem at the browser level is limiting - better off investing in a pihole or equivalent to protect the whole network, rather than one browser on one machine
