@Tarah To block _ads_ on _Chrome_, I'd go AdBlockPlus. If I was actually concerned with tracky crap, I'd go with Privacy Badger. (They play well together; I've done it.) Ghostery IME was slow and didn't catch everything. And of course uBlock Origin doesn't play well with Chrome. Further about that, deponent keepeth their big mouth shut, per your request.
