@cobalt123@beige.party I hate this about hospitals. From my similar experience with Mom, may I recommend speaking with a Charge Nurse (if you haven't) and the hospital's Patient Advocate or Ombuds? Insist. This is arrogance of the worse kind. I wish you and your brother good luck. 🫂

@cobalt123@beige.party if you’re in a US hospital, request the patient advocate/patient representative (ask the charge RN for the ICU, they’ll know who you want and usually get you connected quickly). You may also be able to find their info on the hospital website (easiest way is usually to search for “filing a complaint”). The hospital usually wants to steer these conversations in a productive direction, because the alternative is regulatory complaints and lawsuits.

@cobalt123@beige.party Trying to catch a doctor is one of the hardest things about having a loved one in the hospital. I don't understand why the medical profession doesn't prioritize communicating with patients' families. Thank goodness for the nurses who pass on what information they have.
