I hate this about hospitals. From my similar experience with Mom, may I recommend speaking with a Charge Nurse (if you haven't) and the hospital's Patient Advocate or Ombuds?
Insist.
This is arrogance of the worse kind. I wish you and your brother good luck. 🫂

It means they either are rounding without identifying themselves, or more likely, nobody physically rounded during that time frame. If they filed a progress note with an examination documented during that 24 hours, and never were physically present, that is insurance fraud and a very big deal.
