#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. We went to a different grocery store due to a power outage in the area. I had forgotten that the other store is surrounded by tall trees and has many shady parking spots. It was so nice to park in the shade. 2. Hubby fixed the drip system that the deck contractor cut. As we leave this rainy period, we can rely on the drip system again. 3. I'm so glad that some salad mixes can be sautรฉed.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. We tried a recipe shared from another 3GoodThings participant. Yummy! 2. It's International Cat Day! We love our kitty. 3. I finished installing a cable raceway in the room I am refreshing for crafting. It isn't installed perfectly, but it keeps the cables out of the way and will mostly be hidden behind shelves. It was hard on my bad knees, but I'm happy I took the time to do it.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. Frozen custard. 2. I needed some ordinary boards from the home improvement store (Lowe's) but an 8 foot long board won't fit in the bed of my truck. They each needed to be cut once to specific lengths. The employee that I talked to said they didn't cut them, but he agreed to have it done for me anyway. It was sweet of him and saved me making a longer trip to a different store. 3. While I was loading the boards into my truck, a fellow customer asked...

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. A day of solitude. 2. Loaded baked potatoes. 3. A glass casting mold that I ordered finally arrived today (good thing) after strangely circuitous travel in the US postal system (bad thing).

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. We finally got the new dishwasher installed and ran the first load at 9:30 pm. ๐ 2. We survived the stress and arguments. 3. Hubby, who has the mad handyman skills, was baffled by the special connector from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal. I read the instructions and figured it out. Go, me! ๐

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings Sometimes things that seem bad turn out to be good. Today was not a great day, but good things happened. 1. Finished another IKEA KALLAX assembly. 2. Packed up some of my glass supplies that were making it hard to access the electrical panel. 3. The dishwasher installation went very badly. Hubby broke a wire in the new junction box. When I went online to find a replacement part, I learned these junction boxes tend to destroy themselves and even catch fire. We wi...

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. Progress building the IKEA KALLAX shelves. 2. The new dishwasher was delivered and hubby hopes to get it installed tomorrow. 3. I checked out a novel that just feels like home. It's set in a familiar city and includes familiar ethnic backgrounds. I think it's a case of being a cultural fit. Different places in the US do have different cultures. This book was a serendipitous choice because I checked it out based solely on the plot.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings I survived a wild day. 1. Nine boxes arrived with IKEA shelves to be built (KALLAX). The delivery guys nicely stacked them out of the way of the front steps. 2. The painter and his helper touched up the damage from the flooring crew. 3. Hubby uninstalled the old dishwasher so we will be ready when the new one is delivered. I held onto that 20-year-old dishwasher until it forced me to let go. I am looking forward to the new one.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. I found mixed corn and wheat tortillas in the grocery store. I can stop buying them from the meal service. 2. The deck contractor retrieved the scrap material today. One more thing off the punch list. 3. The trucking company confirmed that my four Kallax units from IKEA will be delivered tomorrow.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. Sweet potatoes. 2. A cool day with another inch of rain, but slow and intermittent, rather than stormy. A lovely day. 3. Hubby helped with housework, which is unusual. I appreciate him doing things that are hard with my bad knees. Of course he made the choice to do that rather than have the cleaning lady come and disrupt his Saturday. I think his day was disrupted. ๐ I'm grateful that we made some progress on cleaning up all the construction crud.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. I sautรฉed peppers and onions to accompany chicken quesadillas for supper. Usually we would have salad, but we're avoiding it right now. We both decided it was a delicious choice and we will do it again. 2. The contractor came and tightened up a gutter that was not installled quite right. 3. The very best thing today was that the company that messed up my extended warranty paperwork is making it right. A recent repair to the truck will be covered.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. Another day with good rain. 2. Progress on the punch list. Closed out with two suppliers and communicated with three contractor project managers. 3. Sorting in my glass studio, I found an old abandoned project. The uneven borders had not met my standards, but I realize that I like it for myself. I am putting this little dragon dish to work as a spoon rest for my coffee spoon.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. The flooring work was completed well and on schedule. 2. Paletas. A treat in this hot weather. 3. An advertising email made me very ecstatic. Tabitha's Glass Emporium in the UK makes some fabulous murrine and I thought that it was never going to grace my workshop. A big US distributor has now started stocking it. Hooray! Yes, I spent too much money. ๐

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings Another hard day, but I'm thankful for: 1. Hubby took the day off work to help move everything around to support the flooring work. 2. A company agreed to send us a small missing part rather than making us go through a return and reorder cycle. I appreciate sane and smart customer service with real humans. 3. Hubby finally agreed to let me get rid of some tall and skinny tables that sit together and hold a lamp and a phone handset, as well as having one of h...

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. Leftover quiche for lunch. 2. The correct railing parts arrived today and the deck rebuild is finished. It's wonderful to feel safe again when stepping outside. 3. While waiting for delivery of the parts, the contractors did a little thing for me and just added a few dollars to the overall cost. Hubby tends to carelessly set stuff in front of my glass storage if he sees any open shelf space. I had the guys build doors to cover my shelves. ๐

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. A cooler day with some light rain. 2. A day of progress on preparing for flooring. Moved all the vinyl, cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs and video tapes out of the family room. Eyeroll for the generations of music I have collected. No 8-tracks remain though. 3. I have had the book Culpability on hold for a long time. Today I was able to grab it on a skip-the-line loan. So far it's very engaging, 15% read.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. Clean sheets. 2. We made good progress on getting ready for the flooring work. 3. Hubby found the missing rubber foot for the table that sits on the deck. I was thinking we needed to find a replacement so we wouldn't damage the new deck. We are thrilled that he found the foot hiding in a flower bed.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings 1. Hubby painted the replacement post on the front porch. It now looks like it belongs. 2. We finished our weekend errands before the rain started. 3. More stuff was delivered for my glass reorganization efforts. Some wire baskets and also some font decals to be fused onto glass. I plan to create some colorful glass labels for the baskets.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings A chaotic day with good progress. 1. The decking and stairs are done. Rails tomorrow. 2. My baby truck passed state inspection and got all the needed maintenance done, too. 3. Reorganized several of the shelves in my glass work area. It is getting more functional each day. I'm ready to get back to using the kiln when the contractors are done using my dedicated circuit and the weather cools a bit.

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings It's a challenging week, but there is always something to be grateful for. 1. More rain! 2. We tried a new option from the meal service and it was a hit. 3. A nice nap to help make up for a rough night.
