@Voline Imagine how UK politicians must feel, working so hard for this, knowing they could have had it all 80+ years ago, if the UK had just surrendered.

@Voline @cstross I'm so glad she did. Because this criminalisation of speaking an actual, proveable FACT is obscene. And, quite frankly, it is doing the Labour Party insane levels of damage which will last for years. Ultimately, no amount of denial or surpressing of the reality of Gaza is going to erase what is happening there from the history books.

@Voline do you have a source for that last edit (that only Hansard or the Parliament video service can publish it)? I’d always understood that anybody can report on what’s said in Parliament, which is why it’s become the traditional way for an MP to put something in the public record that had been intended to be secret. And it doesn’t seem to make sense for them to claim it’s secret but also to publish text and video of it being discussed. (I thought I’d seen it mentioned in the Guardian since it was made public by Sultana, but I don’t have the link immediately to hand.)

Closing statements by the Filton 6, who are the Palestine Action activists mentioned by Zarah Sultana above being stitched-for terrorism sentences without being charged with specific terrorism offenses. https://realmedia.press/filton-6-closing-speech-1/ #UK #Palestine

@Voline@kolektiva.social followup to this: now that the trial is over, it can be reported on (when it's likely too late, though presumably still open to appeal) https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/may/12/palestine-action-activists-elbit-protest-terrorist-connection-ruling

The moratorium on reporting on the trial of the Filton Six has been lifted. Here's the Guardian's story. 'A Defend Our Juries spokesperson said: “The public will be astonished to learn that in the British justice system a protester can now be convicted of criminal damage for disrupting an arms factory and then be sentenced as ‘terrorists’ without having been convicted of terror charges and with this having been kept secret from the jury.”' #UK #Palestine https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/may/12/palestine-action-activists-elbit-protest-terrorist-connection-ruling
