  Why is it that pro-LLM people always respond to bans (or potential bans) of LLM-generated code by suggesting that LLM users will simply continue to use LLMs but hide the fact that they’re doing so? You’re just announcing that you’re a fundamentally dishonest and untrustworthy person who thinks rules don’t apply to you (and/or that you think most of your fellow LLM-lovers are). Who is this meant to persuade?

  Seen a bunch of people on Bluesky recently claiming that the Green Party is 'bad at being green' because it's letting the perfect be the enemy of the good etc etc Followed, obviously, by a list of things they should do instead. But since there isn't actually another party proposing to do any of these things, isn't opposing the Greens itself just letting the perfect be the enemy of the good? (make u think, etc 🤔) #gpew

  Seeing the Linux kernel’s LLM policy being summarised as ‘puts the responsibility on humans’ or some such, and… so? First of all that’s what every LLM user tells themself whether it’s true or not.   @trashheap I’ve used Hetzner for a while, and although they don’t provide *bsd images I’ve had good luck running FreeBSD and OpenBSD with a custom image. I would expect NetBSD to be fine too.

  I've never liked the autocomplete suggestions — I turned off even the individual-word suggestions in iOS years back, and the phrase suggestions are much more obnoxious than that.   Switched my servers (home and VPS) over from tailscale to wireguard this weekend. Works nicely on #FreeBSD in particular. #Debian was a little less straightforward but still not bad. Next task is to figure out DNS rather than hardcoding the IP addresses. Not entirely sure what the right option is: I only want it for the sake of three addresses, and in particular don't want to send all my DNS through the VPS. I'd even just put everything in /etc/hosts, but I'd like it to...
