We have reached a catastrophic tipping point in #climatechange - where mass migration to cooler climates becomes a much more likely necessity and not just a desirable. Impossible to remotely fully grasp the devastation being wreaked very fast and very broadly in Spain and France. Imagine the billions pumped into destroying land and people in wars was spent helping fight climate change ...

#Schools need to start teaching social skills. Face to face communication skills badly in decline - harder to develop when left too late.

It seems to me that those who call themselves Jews garner a kind of privileged protection from those who are not jews. Hard to see from this description of Jews why they should merit special treatment. I never get special treatment for being a humanitarian - I even get challenged often for not believing in a deity. Maybe I should call this out as anti-humanitarian? I DO NOT HATE Jews. I try to hate no one. I just see humans with a label - a Jew did this or a Black man did that - as biased.

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social Brave man in a way - far too many are chillingly exploited by unscrupulous business owners. Stepping back, profit channelled into the pockets of a few was never how Capitalism needed to go - profit was there to sustain a business. Resource renewal, research, contingency. Commandeering it by lining already full pockets was just insanely bad. Distributing such an excess across the workers much more sane. Besides, workers then happier and thereby work better.

A Romanian friend I met online playing Go sometimes writes me poems. Today she wrote this : You—a miracle. Me—a chance. Two halves, drawn together through passing seasons. Two songs, one silent dance. Two colors, never seen— becoming joy. You and Me.

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social US politics is in systemic failure now, endangering millions. NOW is the time to evict the guilty and put them on trial for war crimes. Or it will continue to be meaningless to define a crime that is never punished.

Made a #clay sculpture and it looked a bit bland. Kind of. So I added some #bead structures. The shape on the left was mostly a result of chance but loved how it looked.

Some 4 decades younger than I but balanced engaging conversation. She is lively anti-establishment independent thinker but very warm of nature. Both in bands. She stopped to talk for an hour last year in another park. Very open minded engaging creature. He is very placid by comparison. Before that a chat with a passer by who asked to sit - professor of criminology researching restorative justice. Another palpably good chat but quite different.

It might bemuse you to know that the #subconscious pretty well does all our #thinking - the #conscious mind too slow and lumbering to do anything other than steer and vet what the subconscious delivers. So can we really claim to be superior thinkers when #AI uses much the same kind of neural net pattern matching that our subconscious uses?

The past 3 days I had great chats with some interesting people. With fascinating names! Keet, Red, Heffyn and Noah. And a supremely healthy young lady wearing what looked like a necklace around her waist. Slim, very pretty, decades younger than my 69 years yet deeply warm smile and connection with me. She was seeking something new today so I suggested she explore an artist in a city she had already been to - Prague. Alphonse Mucha should move her - she has a large print on her wall by Klimt.

@cstross@wandering.shop Immigration understanding has been relentlessly broadcast with but one aspect. As you say, there are other critical factors.
