@MugsysRapSheet@mastodon.social @sundogplanets@mastodon.social Except in this case, the dude is already being an asshole, so the assumption is that the file is either what he says it is (and completely safe) or a collection of every malware and exploit known to man. This is not a zipfile of unknown origin, where your probabilities may make sense. It is a game of Russian Roulette, where someone else has decided how many bullets are in the gun.

@robpumphrey@mastodonapp.uk Some drivers see nothing. There was an idiot over here a few years ago, who made a right turn onto a larger road, without yielding to the approaching bike. 1. The bike was a motorbike. 2. The rider was wearing a high vis vest. 3. As soon as the car pulled in front of him, the motorcyclist turned on his flashing blue lights. How blind do you have to be to not realize you are bringing yourself into that situation?

@randahl@mastodon.social Technical nitpick: Unclassified = not classified. Declassified = it was classified until it was decided to change the classification.

They took our knowledge, our art and our jobs. They took our culture and our climate. They put everything into a digital wood chipper, and attempted to sell the mulch back to us, even though they never paid us a time for everything they took from us. "Grand Theft Society" is an understatement.

Did anyone else notice that the politicians fantasizing about AI replacing all our jobs and creating 100% unemployment are the same ones that consider universal basic income to be completely absurd?

Stupid Android. I wanted to check if my dinner had to rest in the fridge before putting it in the oven. No wifi. Huh, that's weird. Tried different things, everything pointing towards something being broken between my phone and my server (which holds my recipes). Apart from that, I couldn't get a clear picture of where the problem was. Ended up cooking something else. When the sun started going down and it got too cold to be outside, I went in to turn on my pc and started chec...

When talking about two factor authentication, I never use the official terminology. I call them passwords and hardware devices. I've seen implementations where "something you have" was a piece of paper with passwords written on it. That is not an extra layer of security, that's five seconds extra at the photo copier when the thief is copying the piece of paper with the regular password. And "something you know" still makes people think that a...

It seems there are a lot of autistic people on Mastodon. And autistic people like trains, right? Yet I don't find a lot of train-related content on the Fediverse. In an attempt to change that, I have made a railfan Pixelfed account @railfan where I post pictures of trains and infrastructure, mostly from southern Denmark (living near the border, there will be German trains as well). You can follow Pixelfed accounts from Mastodon, you don't need another account. However, Mastodo...

Why are open source people still using Micosoft® Github®? And why are they still praying that Darth Vader doesn't alter the deal further instead of leaving years ago?
